I started watching anime around early 2009, now I don't watch much anime or manga.
On anime:
I like anime with unique art style and story telling.
I don't like to watch anime with school boy/girl that makes majority of typical anime.
Opinion on some of favorite anime:
Ping Pong: A complete anime, with great visual and story telling. Taiyo Matsumto manga adapted by Masaki Yuasa.
Spirited Away: A story told in a simple manner that anyone can understand. Contrary to many movies it actually has a story that is good, but neither complex nor simple.
Mononoke: Love the unique visual style.
Hunter X Hunter (1999) and
FMA:B - Good shonen anime.
Few other anime I liked.
xxxHolic - Unique art/ good setting/ Japanese myth
Tekkonkonkreet- Good visual based on Taiyo Matsumoto's manga.
Osomatsu-san - Comedy where expect the unexpected.
Nodame Cantbile - Good romance-comedy with music.
Jin-roh & Sennen Joyuu - Love the character design and art-style.
Shirokuma Cafe - Comedy with animal cast.
Opinion on some of favorite manga:
Naruto: A complete story with great fight and art. The parallelism, transition between scenes and symbolism makes it great. Its philosophy is very relevant in today's world.
Nausicaa: Another manga that has a complete story with philosophy relevance to our world. The fictional world done so beautifully, one might think it as a possible future world, though it takes elements from ancient world.
20th Century Boy: Murder mystery and gripping story line where you can't drop the series until you finish it. But the important part is characters that feel like you know them, easily relatable and realistic characters.
Skyhigh: Like the philosophy of life and death depicted, with equally great art by Tsutomu Takahashi.
Blade of immortal: Love the art style by Hiroaki Samura. Interesting fights and weapon technique.
Few other manga I like for art:
xxxHolic, Tekkonkonkreet, Lone wolf and cub, Domu
for story:
Monster
My manga collection -
