Anime, due to their wide variety, get me thinking about many aspects of life. They can create a new world in which I can absorb myself. Sometimes, they make more sense than real life itself.
I like to watch good anime. I think they're much more capable than TV soaps or sitcoms. I think anime can be more solidly emotional or intellectual or plain awesome than the latter - if the production just wills it. I strongly feel that the usual hyped-about sitcoms like HIMYM, etc. pale to nothingness in comparison to the most glorious scenes of good anime.
Anime aren't cartoons. But then, that is the standard quote used by those too narrow-minded to accept their potential greatness. I agree that anime can be puerile and pretty damn annoying, but ignoring good anime because anime are like cartoons, and one hates cartoons, is illogical.
I like thrillers, plots with scheming characters, plots that discuss practical philosophy, high school plots, plots revolving on a strong emotional bond between its main characters, rom-coms, well-paced plots or any combination of these.
I dislike on-going series (for the fear of catching up with them and having nothing to do but wait =P), series with excess fillers and those with plots revolving around homosexuality. To clarify - I think cross dressing has huge comic potential but the plots revolving around serious homosexual relationships are a turn off. To be more specific - I also need to relate to the strong emotional bond that the anime is portraying.
I love anime soundtracks. I think they complete the overbearing capability of anime to give rise of emotion in you.
Some particularly memorable quotes from anime are:
* "Believe in yourself. Not the you who believes in me. Not the me who believes in you. Believe in the you that believes in yourself." - Kamina, Gurren Lagann
* "I destroy worlds... and create... anew." - Code Geass
* "I don't think of equivalent exchange as a law of the world anymore. I think of it as a promise, between my brother and me, a promise that someday we'll see each other again." - Alphonse Elric, FMA
* "We can no longer go on thinking this world has nothing to do with ourselves. This is our world. There's no difference. This is where we live." - Edward Elric, FMA- Shamballa
I'll add more as I remember them.
ABOUT HOW I RATE ANIMÉ -
The anime in my list are scored on the basis of the enjoyment that I derived from them. Occasional variations in my list from 'expected' values occur because of the bad mood I might have had while watching it. xD
Just Toradora and new season of Fairy Tail. :) Besides I have started reading Battle Royale and it's one of my favourite manga now. It's dark and contains a lot of violence and how people become monsters when they are in bad situations, this manga fits perfectly to my taste. You should read it. ;)
Hm, Paranoia Agent? I have never heard of it.
Well THAT IT WHY I refrained to ask my Bhai if CLAMP people worked in the series or no. Because the R2 Ending sequesnce (I really don't like ALI Project's way of music. It was a pain watching all the beautiful illustrations with an utterly uptight down ALI music :| ) The artwork made me really feel CLAMPish and therefore, the anti body proportions :v
I have to watch yet the mecha part. I incidentally watched the part where Shirley is killed by his pretending brother :| ouch. Blood blood everywhere .-.
Okay. My brother is watching Code Gease R2. He was at episode 08 when I sneaked in. Okay so, my first reaction was to just stick to the screen and just let my eyes have a feast. which I later on comprehended that the series has a good composition of frames and overall look and feel. The color scheme used are really commercial and really pleasing to your eyes which I see in some anime series. I liked the composition of one frame when the blonde person, a megane women, and other two characters (I don't know their names ofcourse :v ) in a carriage. I liked it very much! However, when Bhai proceed to next episode, the story got more mecha and complex (@_@) meanwhile the frames were amusing. But! the 00th thing that caught my eyes what the GOD ANTI HUMAN BODY PROPORTIONS OF THE CHARACTERS! Oh yes yes, ofcourse I am not supposed to comment on the a series's character design...it really did...hit...my eyes hard...
And while I am still preping for my university exam...such kind of an diversion is so possible! But about the cinematography of the series, I find is really intriguing. But the mecha part, the complexity og the storyline is what hits my incompetent brain ._. Hallelujah!
It's time I get myself a good sleep. It's 3am and pretty much it that my body clock has been screwed all up again! Good night (Or Morning/evening, whatever the timezone is at your place.) Have a wonderful Sunday! Nice having you online :) Bye :)
Then, it must your constructive ego at clash? That person hasn't died actually...it's still there at the corner of your genius mind, yes. The part of a person never dies but is pushed to certain corners of your sub consciousness. It just that growing has more affects on our daily hobbies. It all comes down to finding people with the similar, rather, mutual wavelength group. Hmmm. I read*beer. I know it's hard to be not in or not finding the company of 'able' and 'intellectual' persons. I come across few people like that who resort to stay aloof from random people. Infact, I am too in search of a good company which might help grow and improve me more. It's a phase...I call them Arcs (or you can call them sub Arcs) A part of us growing up realizing independently what you need and need not. I am sure that you will find a good company within next week (I believe in that force which, on calling, leaves you solving hints to your current problem.) So, I ask you to pay attention to little clues or hints that may happen around you which will eventually lead you to untangling your problem right now.
Oh Oh, IIT 8| Wow, you Genius Mind (Y). Anargrams are awesome ( Preoccupied conception since watching Angle and Demons made my love them.)
But wait, what is 'nice to know'? ._. Do you think that having a bit of inclination to the person above is 'nice'? It's kills you! You definitely know that it will have no future but you still, secretly, wish it to have a future which is scattered when you realized that your age and your current order of looks are still incompatible to the person who came to earth ten years before you did!
I don't know about the term AT ALL! I am Wiki-ying it right now :| Completely alien to me! Technology and Marathon? Wow. Just wait until I am done it my query with the term!
But! somewhere while in the series I felt that the authors didn't want to make the female characters more fanServiced *maybe. But yes, Miho was just to fragile, timid, a complete opposed to what the current Women generation is.
Let me have my exams done. Only then I will ample time to watch the philosophical anime that you suggest. I find your opinion on the series rather intimate and very fine. A polish example how much a anime can have your senses at ease. It's natural the way you fel happy and content with the series. That how much the series has answered to your needs and goals. I might as well watch it. But this series alone. There have me many anime that has taught things. Still teaches me things. It's wonderful how much these stories touch our lives...become parallel with our ambitions in our lives...And yes, I find is similar to my act when try comparing the next anime to the pleasures of this current series...hyped expectations. So until now there have been no anime to surpass the emotions that Code Geass gave you?
"Contemporary Anime" THIS term. If they ever make a History book our of all to Anime series made till date, THIS term has to be present in it! One of few reasons as well which makes me not watch the mainstream anime is that they are too much overhyped. Well nevermind that since I must try breaking the barrier a little bit to bring space for Code Geass.
These stories have just the wonderful escapade! The manga series, Hirunaka No Ryuusie, that I was recommending has my personal reasons behind it as well. Because I almost felt it how the heroine was going through. The main plot is a 15yr girl beginning to develop feelings for her easy going Teacher....and henceforth coming in conflict which their statuses in the society that awaited her. The author is successful in portraying this raw emotion. I have been through that phase and I confess, yes I had such infatuation. It was reading this piece I found content in her. I felt more happy that I now a person, though fictional, to whom I can relate my current situations to. It's marvelous how we connect our lives with these wonderful stories...
It's fine 1am now in Kolkata :3 quite not a 'midnight' midnight for me. I am in a middle of having my rest of the sleep destroyed...reading a horror manga:| As I said, it's captivating...
Well, THAT IS the reason why I prefer reading horror manga over watching Horror series! Horror movies are khatarnaak! You are true about the wonderful air of anticipation they create and CLAP! someones does that behind your back just to look around no that one's around you. Well, I just imagined it. God, I am not going to sleep tonight. :|
There are relationships which are based on...rather cute and strong principles. Here, Masahiro wanted to be a greater Artist, stand on his feet and then rightfully marry the woman who accepted his decision. It's wonderful how both of them gave each other's aims equal respect. They agreed to wait for each other until they have done something to make them finally independent which most of people don't reconsidered. (At hints being women are forced to retire from their jobs early to take care of her Husband and family.) Apart from this concept, the couple in the series...lacked that 'thrive'. Miho needed more to her personality. I would rather expect a more confident woman than Miho.
I am afraid of drastic changes done at ONCE! It's true I must update my tastes as well >_> I might give Steins;Gate a try but not Code Geass! Too much hype makes me NOT want to watch it >_> I am adamant at times. Bluh. Well, people have thier own choices. Some differ and some fall in complete harmony. Likes and dislikes of human beings is an interesting studies.
It's obvious since the people around you have already made a preoccupied idea that this particular university is sure to give you better result etc. It's a play of the society...It is a human tendency to show off their superiority. I cannot give you any more words to describe it. I have seen my Didi being secretly ridiculed for her choice of field she wants to take. She was being forced to give exams for the field she didn't like. It was until she decided to protest against the flow of the obnoxious relatives, she made her path, well, almost clear. She now knows to handle those nosy relatives.
You just need to shut off the part of outside pressure. These people are just talks and etc. You can find peace within yourself as well....But seriously, you don't at least A friend in your friend circle? Don't answer if you want to keep personal things to yourself.
Sadly...I found the website with all the catalouge about 'wonderful-chills-down-your-spine' horror manga series :| all done by the same author. The one I am recommending is the "New Voices in the Dark". *Reminder currently the room is still dark,to my right. The book cover...is marvelous though I gives my horrid chills :| You know right that feels...you are afraid of doing it but you do it anyway :| and later on after the deed done, it is your night's sleep that is taken away...mistaking every curtains at your room as...you know :| 'floating' things. Well, I have given myself a bit of visuals as how I am going to have my sleep tonight. :|
But I still cannot remember THAT particular horror OneShot I read...it was about some newly emerged cracks in the mountains suspiciously attracting people to the open voids...It happens to be my first ever read horror manga.Creepy yet informative.
