Hey, sorry for being late with this, but I wanted to take some time to get this right!
Happy (belated) New Year!
Thank you so for much for your wonderful Secret Santa recommendation letter! Not only were the recs spot on (more on that later), but the bit you wrote about the Santa siblings and the process of choosing the shows you wanted to recommend etc. was very charming and had a lot of character! I feel very privileged to have gotten such an intricate Secret Santa letter! :)
As for the recommendations, I've immediately sank my teeth into Namiyo Kiitekure and watched the whole thing in one go! I thought it was truly fascinating because it not only featured wonderful threedimensional characters with real flaws and charms, but it also spoke about something that is always dear to my heart whenever I can find it in anime (and Japanese popculture in general): the role of women in Japanese society! Japan is still a very male-dominated society and I find it truly intriguing to hear from Japanese women who have to face this kind of society everyday (and we heard a lot about it through Minare's radio show!)!
Afterwards I immediately started on Bakuman, which also seems fun, even though I've only just seen the first episode! I once dreamed of becoming a comic book artist myself but then reality hit and that felll to the wayside, so I'm super pumped to see the two guys try and succeed with their manga dreams!
But please don't think I've forgotten about the other two more fantastical recommendations! Hakumei to Mikochi and Flip Flappers are still on my radar and I'm going to try them out as soon as I have the time!
But enough with all these exclamation points, this is getting ridiculous! Thanks once again!! Have a nice 2022!!!
