LMAO, I have no idea what'cha talking about with the Vocaloids. Teach me, sensei!
Dio is like the poster boy for JJBA. Sure everyone is whacked out, but Dio comes to most minds when they think of the anime/manga. He's from the first part of the series and while, yes, Jonathan's there, but he's more "normal" compared to the pathetic Dio. You can't tell me that guy isn't pathetic with those expressions of his or his angst. Look at how he acted when Jonathan kicked his ass in the first episode. xD
Actually I've heard some things about Jolyne... well two things that stick out in particular. >_>; The girl is a bit horny, lol.
Tch. Togashi... I would like a proper ending for HxH before he turns in for real. It irks me when I get into a manga and it turns out that it got cancelled. Gon is a cutie, with his puppy dog eyes. I'm a bit in between like and dislike for him. His selfishness is nice to see in a shounen character (because a lot of them are on, as I call it, the nakama & kizuna train) but it's kind of frustrating. Seeing Killua hurt over him acting like that ticked me off. Did Gon apologize? I can't remember.
LOL! So you like Kotetsu, eh? Get in line with the other fanboys and girls! Seriously, the most popular thing about this anime is Kotestu. To the point that when you see a bottle of cologne he wears in his home (a lot of stuff in his home are references to actual things IRL, for example: you can spot a Bob Marley vinyl record in his CD collection), the fans in Japan recognized the bottle and it was soon sold out in stores. They wanted to know what he smelled like! xD
Tiger & Bunny is a reference to their nicknames. Well, for Barnaby, his partner, it's a nickname. Kotetsu's known as Wild Tiger. The show is actually about superhero's who fight crime as a career while advertising companies and brands. It's not that intricate of a plot or original, in fact it's rather plain... and that's what makes the show so good. It's one of those things that most can enjoy. Masakazu Katsura was behind the designs of the characters.
It is sketchy. Specially when there's nothing being said about her or her manga's status. Togashi gave word that he would be on a break (Dear lord, not again) for 2 weeks because of back problems, why not Hoshino? And her problem with her hand is more legit than back pain... I can understand it being hard to draw with a bad back because of sitting still for all those hours, but can't he get Naoko to massage him? xD Of course, it's not that simple.
I'm jealous of people who can make things like MMD. Patience indeed... but also money. My god, you pay so much to do art and yet you may not even earn that much for it. I used to think "starving artist" meant they were hungry for work or inspiration... turns out they were actually starving and poor.
Let's love Dio for being so ridiculous. <3 I like characters that are meant to be a threat but they end up being so silly in nature, which makes them scrarier in a way.
I like scans because they can be blunt with the trans. Cursing and whatnot. But, I can understand what you mean. I have a bit of hard time following HxH because it's a lot to take in, but I've heard the official work is more simpler.
Yeah, I should have mentioned the spoilers. Typically they cover the spoilers, that's why some stuff is whited out, you can just highlight it to read the rest. I like to read it when I don't quite understand something, say like HxH or Kingdom Hearts. The "Fridge Brillance" part of the entries are basically for this. It's a weird name but it makes sense in context. Sometimes I just like to read the trope because it just sounds funny or interesting.
Bah, I'm sorry for reply late. I notice the alerts on my phone, but I prefer to type using my computer, and I'm not really on it that much (plus I unplug it to save energy).
Ah-ha! My humor is a little weird, so I was worried.
lol it's not cheesy! I don't care for the sex either. I'm more interested in the dynamic of the relationship. He may not be your favorite character, but he sure is invading your mind. His charisma can be felt through computer monitors, that's how strong this guy is. XD I believe Jonathan had platonic love for him and nothing else. Dio thou.... ay, forget him.
Is Viz trustworthy? I hate it when the official releases edit things that may cause you to... "read between the lines" or be too "mature" for "young" readers. I heard something like a scene with Shikamaru in Naruto was edited because of him smoking a cigarette. something to that effect, which is odd considering this series has violence and death.
TV tropes is for everybody, "by the fans, for the fans" so to speak. It's basically for explaining tropes you have noticed in media. There are pages from books to anime, to tv shows, to games. JJBA as it's own page for example. Weird enough, I have favorite tropes. x/
Sometimes I keep checking manga sites just to see if she updated, but nope. Heck, no one even talks about DGM. It's almost as if it was a dream. And the freaking thing cuts right when we're about to get answers! The hell is going on with Katsura...
I just saw a MMD of Dio dancing to Lamb. Those pelvic thrusts..
I'm not a hardcore yaoi/BL fan myself, though I do enjoy works of that genre if it's got a story to it (like the OVA's of Ai no Kusabi focus more on the romance between the main characters, whereas the novel expands outside of that, like the way the cities they live in (or outside of) works and social class. The recent OVA's are trying to be more like the novel). I used to like it more when I was younger but I got tired of the way the "ukes" were highly feminized, as if the female readers/watcher could like/relate to them cause they were so effeminate. So now, I try to look for (when I'm in the mood for a BL) stories where the guys are... well, more guy-like. They don't need to scarf down bloody steaks or beat each other into pulps to be guys; but as long as I don't get the imagery that they piss while sitting down and make sure they don't "drip" before pulling up their frilly, pink panties--THEN I'm fine. (Sorry, If that freaked you out.)
I like unrequited love, so that's way I think the pairing is cute (only if the object of affection doesn't realize it and strings the person along, I like it. If it's like what I told about in shoujo-romance manga...then no, I'll pass). I may like Dio/Jojo, but Jojo/Erina I like as well and it's canon. I can't speak for other shippers, but for the ships I like, I don't take it to heart. This is because I can tell it won't be a canon thing (most of the time). Plus... shippers are too crazy for me. They will defend that ship even when it sinks. Or as one shipper said, "it goes on to become a submarine in our hearts." LOL xD
Ooo, you wrote a characters anaylsis? I love those! It's hard to find a good one on characters I like.
People who put others down like that have nothing better to do. I have to laugh when they antagonize someone over their grammar and then someone else comes along a says theirs wasn't so great either.
Men are coming to realize that women can be perverted! Those pretty boy faces don't match the body at all.'Cept for the short blond character, he doesn't seem too muscular.... The redhead and green eyed guy tho...um... I need to stop looking at them or else I'll end up watching it.
I had to type in "Jojo MMD" on youtube to make sure I understood what you were talking about. I have seen one before; it was a Tiger & Bunny one. LOL was the one you watch to "Get Lucky". Ha, that was actually good.
Pfft, I didn't know who Macoto Takahashi was till I saw this comment. Um... I don't really have a favorite, but I tend to like artwork on the realistic side. Some examples
Hmm, I have to get back to you on that question when I watch the rest. I like Dio because, like you said, his personality. Characters like him are interesting to pick apart. From what've seen from "Jojolion", Kira might be favorite in design. And Jolyne... I really want to see her in the anime... once I catch up. >_> Maybe I'll watch some today. lol. So, do you think Dio had an "interest" in Jonathan? I think the shipping is cute, but I'm not 100% sure if it was even one-sided for Dio.
Fujiko is definitely a badass. I caved in to watch it after seeing how pretty she looked, lol. Music is pretty good too. Ha, the 90's. There was a lot of good cartoons to watch then. Now... eh.
Oh man! Your grammar is WAY better than mine. xD Yeah, that guy fooled everyone in Bleach. It was a recent surprise since most readers thought that was a chick for more than 20 chapters. He isn't happy to be outed either. Maybe he's transgender? I dunno. I've heard of Free! I'm... I'm not sure what to think of it... I think of checking it out every time I see them in action. Their bodies are... distracting. Like, I'll pause to stare at a screenshot or gif of them. XD
"I just noticed that a lot of male protagonist of today aren't very muscle. In fact, alot of them are thin/lean pretty boys. :/"
"Aren't very muscle." Aye.... I'm not the greatest with grammar but omg, typos kill me. Well, if can't laugh at yourself.... x'D
Japan love them some bishounens. I've watched enough anime to tell when a character is a male. Expect for the recent character in Bleach. Trap level, indeed.
Your welcome! I'm glad I can help. The good thing about TWCMF is that it's the "backstory" to that character, so you really don't need to watch the other Lupin shows/movies to understand. Though, coming from someone who watched the original Lupin 3rd anime on Adult Swim, I was surprised that this was a Seinen!
LMAO, a gaydar. xD It's even funny because Dio is bisexual (Araki says he doesn't care if a person is male or female as long as they interest him). I tend to like antagonists/villains more. It's hard find a good villain though. Like, in Naruto (sorry for going back to this, lol), Madara is preferred over Kaguya. I think that neither of them are good villains. Orochimaru or Sasuke had great potential. When I see the protagonists suffer greatly because of them, have depth in their personality and just not give a fuck, I think they're a good villain. Aaaand now I probably sound like a sadist. >_>; While I'm at it, I prefer yanderes over tsunderes.
lol, aww. The modern style of anime will grow on you, and it has if you watch HxH and JJBA. Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Mine Fujiko is modern (2012) but the art style is very old shoujo like.
You might like it. Though I should warn you it's Seinen.
Do you have some favorite artists?
They are pretty fashionable aren't they? I love Dio. He's such a bastard, but that's exactly why I like him. xD I'm more amused that some characters or stands are named after songs. LOL, your dad thought he was handsome? The first I've heard any male say that. Usually they're fanboying over how over the top and badass the characters are. I just noticed that a lot of male protagonist of today aren't very muscle. In fact, alot of them are thin/lean pretty boys. :/
I'm with you on the "50/50". Not all dubs are terrible and some of the "purists" really don't want to give them credit where credit is due. I like to give the English dubs a shot and it's harsh for those voice actors that take it very seriously or enjoy it. It's one of those thing people love to hate on. Someone actually said the English dub of Cowboy Bebop was "okay" but it was not greater than the original Japanese dubbing. Watanabe on the other hand prefers the English version.
Meh, the dub vs. sub thing is annoying. I try to ignore it.
Not gonna lie to you, I'm not a fan of the art either. I didn't want to watch it because of that and well... they're magical girls, lol. I'm not really fan of magical girls/mahou shoujo. It's a little to cute for me and the girls are often very young, so there's no appeal. The only magical girl genres I've seen are Sailormoon, Card Captor Sakura (I was a kid when I saw these two), New Cutey Honey (another of Nagai's work), UFO Valkyrie (ugh..), and by extension, Kill La Kill. I decided to give it a shot after a King of Lightning first impression video and reading a quick synopsis on it. Long story short: it's a deconstruction of the magical girl genre and it's a lot better than I expected. Doing a little research on the writer, Gen Urobuchi (or the "Urobutcher" as his fans call him), he's a fan of cosmic horror (H.P. Lovecraft to be exact), and his first work makes Madoka Magica seem sweet and hopeful. I just found out he created Aldnoah.Zero, so I'm gonna have to check that out too, along with PsychoPass... this website really is necessary, the more I talk to you I realize I really do have a list. xD
I don't want to say to much about Madoka and spoil it for you, but what really made this series for me was the characters. The twist and turns in the story are nice and all (and it really does take you for a surprise, though at the same time you can see it coming because of foreshadwing), but the interaction between the characters is was drew me in. Particularly from episode 7.
I've read a bit of the first part too. Before that, all I associated Jojo with is bara men, bulldozing and WRRRRYYYY. xD
I'm watching Zankyou no Terror because of Shinichiro Watanbe and Yoko Kanno. Watanabe's works is typically enjoyable, if not out-right good, and Yoko Kanno's music is just awesome. Jazz, Blues, Orchestral, Pop, Rock, "creating another language for a song" (aka, gibberish bastardize European language). The lady is versatile.
Speaking of music, Yuki Kajiura did the composition for Madoka Magica. Whenever you see this woman's name in a series, it's good chance it's a dark story ('cept for SAO).
I'm trying. I was watching 3 to 4 episodes in a day to try to make it quick, lol. My friend marathon-ed it in ONE day. He liked it that much! Gah... to each it's own, I guess. I don't know how he did them all within a day. I did the same with Madoka Magica. It's only 12 -13 episodes, but I got a headache at the end. Friggin' SAO is 25 episodes long.
I've never thought about Sakura like that. Thinking about it now, she really got protective of Naruto after knowing he was a Jinchuuriki. Her mood swings though... she denied a soldiers romantic interest during the war because she still loved Sasuke (also she found that was a really inappropriate time for that, more like bad timing imo) even though Sasuke tried to kill her; then Sasuke shows up and she's not sure if she trusts him. I just think Kishi doesn't know how to write/or has a hard time writing female characters in a positive light... despite being being a 39-yo man with a wife and kids. He's not the only shonen writer with this problem, however. Tite Kubo (Bleach) does this just as bad. To the point that none of his female characters have won a fight straight by themselves, or by a fluke. I love it when female characters fight (like men) too. Sure ninja tools and swords are cool, but with their fist or legs, hell yeah!
I still haven't watched Jojo other than the first episode. I wanted to watch it with my friend (the one I mentioned earlier) but he's not into subs. He won't watch HxH because of this too. His lost.
Yami Shibai looks pretty good. It reminds me of Mononoke (kinda surprised it's not in the recommendations), in that short story, folkore format. It's a bit old (2007, 2006 if you count the one-shot in the Ayakashi anime), but the art is very pretty.
It's more psychological than creepy, imo. It has a mnaga, but I don't think it's updated often, which is sad. I loved this series, still do, lol.
Bah, that doesn't make you a loser. Like I said before, the old/classic anime is where it's at! Look at Jojo! You'd think they'd make stuff like this nowadays? Modern anime/manga needs a little more "oomph".
Edit: Oh wait, it is on the recommendations. My bad. Dx

Kinda makes me want to check out those Vocaloid thingies... wow I sounded real old when I said that.
lol it's not cheesy! I don't care for the sex either. I'm more interested in the dynamic of the relationship. He may not be your favorite character, but he sure is invading your mind. Speaking of music, Yuki Kajiura did the composition for Madoka Magica. Whenever you see this woman's name in a series, it's good chance it's a dark story ('cept for SAO).

My bad. Dx
