I can't deny that wasn't a review but mostly me complaining, the review is removed and I will maybe make a proper another time, I disagree with what you said though. I would completely agree that a flawed protagonist is an amazing tool, but I cannot for the love of me watch an anime sexualize young girls for an entire season or more while an old man is there drooling over them. That's more than being flawed, thats sick, thats digusting, if from the beginning my man showed any sign of remorse or disgust towards himself, and showed a clear trend of wanting to improve, I could have gotten behind it, even saying the anime is bold for trying something like that, but that is not what they went for. And yes it looks nice and it sounds nice, not here to deny that
Mushoku Tensei is bad not because the main character has a flaw, but because the entire premise of the show is built around rationalizing romantic attraction to miners. Perhaps if they presented his behavior as deviant, but no they do everything they can to make it seem not just natural and acceptable, but even admirable. As if by manipulating these young girls he is doing them a favor. The fact that the show is beautiful and entertaining makes it more destructive. If it was poorly made it would be easier to see it for what it is. Especially when you are young. Beautiful works of art can shape the way you think about the world.
