Also, I'd like to wish you an early happy birthday :3
You always seem to be on pretty late hours~
btw, do you use skype?
Yeah, it looks pretty sweet. You play a lot of games?
Oneesama e is as close as it gets in terms of drama, but I also personally recommend Takarajima and Black Jack, Black Jack and it's movie especially are simply wonderful! I can't really explain it, but the drama on these shows click with me. There is something very human, very real about them. It's not simply just escapism, it's a look at ourselves, our emotions. Dezaki was probably very big into theater.
A story that's told inconsistently; characters get introduced, only to realize that they have no real relevance to the overall package of the story, or they appear out of no where, only to disappear again. When the story is told in such a sloppy fashion, only to feel annoyed or indifferent when something major happens, or something happens to someone.
Pacing and timing is key, otherwise the story and development won't go too far. That's what I think, anyway. Granted, I mostly look at the enjoyment factor, the most.
It has that real early 70's charm to it, love the scenery, the general area. AwN is a product of it's time, and sadly we don't see works like that anymore. The designs really blew me away, as well, those Akio Sugino designs are just spectacular to admire always. Osamu Dezaki knows how to direct drama, it was a perfect combination.
I seriously hope they sub the later seasons, because I want to get the full story ;_;
btw, blu-ray rips for the movie came out, they're totally stunning.
I'll be sure to. I love me some good shoujo manga. A shoujo epic sounds even better, long as the story isn't convoluted or too ridiculous.
I'll admit though.... That
But still...so it looks like the anime is only adapting PB and BT? Maybe a new season will arrive if the ratings and dvd sales are high enough.
:D Ace wo Nerae is a wonderful anime. I really enjoyed that and the movie. It's hard to explain, but those kind of stories get the most out of me. I love the time setting, the era, the style. It's all really vintage and wonderful~
Do let me know what you think of it as you continue on. I'm starting to love your taste more and more, btw. Been meaning to read Basara forever.
MIGHT BE TOO MANY TO HANDLE. CAN YOU HANDLE IT, YO?
Nice, I'll have to get back to it soon enough. I enjoyed how much I've seen of Gintama. But I get distracted from episodic stuff, as usual...
Otherwise, how's life in California treating you?
Part II looks to be really solid overall. I'd be reading this right now, but I'm kind of addicted to the Hajime no Ippo manga right now...
How are you liking Gintama?
I should get back to that, apparently part II is really good.
when i saw the trailers for the pachinko game (lol what a random thing) i was like :O!!! EVERYONE LOOKED SO LOVELY in newer animation haha. but then again, the older look is really charming and fits the series quite well. I AM SO TORN!! i read a tiiiiny bit of the manga and i LOVE how different it is in terms of humor/atmosphere compared to the anime which is always SO SERIOUS. *u*
ANYHOO, i was torn between starting sailor moon r or ccs next, but i think i'm gonna sailor moon it up-- GOTTA FINISH THE ORIGINAL SERIES BEFORE NEXT SUMMER HEHEH.
