They don't, and you should check it out yourself. It's really worth it, no matter when you do it. The manga was stopped due to the author being hospitalized years ago, but a few months ago, she started drawing again, so fans are getting crazy for a comeback.

Alright!! Gosh, Nana is truly amazing. 10/10, I want to add it to my favorites already, but I'd need to remove something! >o<;
Wow, this series can't be overlooked, I can't believe it, simply... It has made me laugh, cry, enthusiastic, excited, nervous, EVERYTHING! Haha. The attachment coming from the characters is so high, although it's a somewhat girly story, one can relate to the events and feel the character's emotions.
SO! What do I think about the manga and the anime, so far? I have to say it's the most coordinated / in sync series I've ever witnessed (in my only second time doing this : reading and looking at a series, and the other one was One Piece... which is very faithful but oh so boring; so wtf is blob saying, he doesn't have experience at all at doing this, so saying it's the most "in sync" series doesn't mean much :D). They don't forget ONE detail! In fact, in the anime, they ADDED details. That's like... unheard of. The art is extremely similar (it's the same, stupid blob) and every frame, it looks like it was taken from the anime, or vice versa; that's how much they're alike. They are both equally enjoyable. The manga is a really good one and the anime is just as good.
I already chose the anime over the manga, but just because the music is there (I say this, but I chose the Beck manga over the anime! What a contradictory blob!). I am very relieved to know that I'll have to qualms with having to read the manga once the series will be over. In fact, I tried this already, by chance. The anime episode I was going to watch had the sound delayed (a lot), so I went and read the corresponding chapter... and the one after it... and the one after that one. XD BUT I just had to check out the anime episodes afterwards, to make SURE I didn't miss anything out. I didn't. So now I'm happy to know it's faithful to its original version (for now, I guess).
Woah, I gotta say, I am surprised. I just finished 3 episodes of the Nana anime, but I don't feel like reading the manga at all anymore! Haha, I wasn't really expecting such a fun story to follow... can't believe I didn't start this earlier!
But oh well, I'll make an effort. :P I'll read ~3 chapters from the manga now, I'll tell ya what I think!
Haha, I also like it when there is very little text, especially if I'm not sure if I'll end up enjoying the story or not (I don't think I won't enjoy Nana, though).
Since I have more time to read manga than watch anime (since I download them on my cellphone and read on my way to school or during small breaks), I might just watch around 3 episodes to have a look at the art, sound, and colors, and then go to the manga.
Thank you! Why did you think the manga was weaker, more specifically? Also, did you read the manga from the beginning or did you start it from where the anime left off?
Hello, I was wondering if I should watch Nana or read it, what is your suggestion? I don't think the anime should be bad, but I don't really want to be left empty after it either. You have it on your favorites, so maybe you could light my path? :p

PS : The manga was awesome. <3
WHY IS IT ONGOING? D:
Fuck, this is so intense, I want more. ;;
I hope I'll remember this feeling forever.
After this, I'll feel so empty... haha. It's been a while since I've seen a masterpiece, and I always end up the same after completing them.

Also, why did you start reading the manga?
