I came back to anime last november (2010) after not watching anime for about a decade. I had been a casual fan in the 90s (mostly watched from my roommates collection at that time) but other things won out in demanding of my leisure time (video games, music, beer, traveling). Video games in many ways brought me back to anime as well, as I have never liked video games that are based around shooting people in the face and much prefered character interaction (both online with other players and with dialogue tree'd npcs). Looking for games where dating and relationships is a key element led me to looking into anime alot more again as there is a lot of crossover.

In the past year it has become one of my biggest hobbies (though my old ones are not laid to rest) and I am sure various anime stores are greatful for my existance, and I have also attended my first con this year.

I am becoming interested in the technical aspects of animation and think it would be really neat to work on a show, though being a westerner any show I would make would reflect my culture and experience and imagination and not a japanese sensibility.
