I haven't practiced seriously in a while either so I wouldn't say a good amount no
Ok there's a lot of manga I would recommend but I'll try to keep the list short for now
- Honoo no Tenkousei
If you like old-school type shonen, it's stupidity and hot-bloodedness at its paroxysm, shimamoto has a great panneling and flow, I personnaly consider him the best manly men artist
- Kuro Hakubutsukan: Springald / Kuro Hakubutsukan: Ghost and Lady
Another artist I like is Kazuhiro Fujita, he's mainly known for his long running series like ushio to tora and karakuri circus with most of his works focusing on youkai and all kind of legends and mythologies, I think the best gateway is to start by his black museum series ( only these two atm ) that are about some cases from Scotland Yard, the first being about Spring-heeled-Jack and the second being a romanced biopic of Florence Nightingale
- Ultra Heaven
This one is mostly just a visual experience but I had to recommend it because of how good the composition in portraying drug-like efffects on the mind
- Taihou to Stamp
This one is still ongoing but should be in its final arc now, it's a shame how it barely receives any attention. It's an original take on the usual war drama with the main character being assigned to the logistics part of the Russian war and has a great amount of refreshing comedy
I'm pretty sure the english version only has selected chapters from the manga.
Are you interested in gekiga or are you searching more for general recommendations, some stuff I enjoyed recently ?
