it's pretty good. You just have to find someone you can identify with, as with any genre of music. I like Gackt, but I also like Namie, (she's more J-pop), Some Miyavi (some of his stuff is like metal....and i dont' like metal), i like Laruku and some Dir en Grey. But mostly I like Hyde and Gackt. I've listened to others, but a lot of J-rock is like metal and visual kei (like KISS), so most of it really doesn't appeal to me.
But if you want, you should listen to some, you might like it and you might not.
So what's Atashinchi about? Is it random like boob boobo bobo? or no (LOL!!) funny! And i need to look into the Mushishi, cuz i've never heard of it. What's it about?

Hey! So I saw Billy Talent at Virgin Festival in Calgary a few days ago! They were pretty awesome! Check out my video some time, I was right up at the stage!
