don't take my rating too seriously, I can love a 9 as I love a 8 and a 10 as I love a 9. I just try to not have a third of my anime marked as 10. Everything from 7 to 10 is worth watching, I don't care about having too much 10
I'm searching for an anime with a character named Yuzu who can transform himself/herself into a motorbike. If you know one, pls contact me
I understand, though I was content for the Peco vs Smile match not showing because of the intriquing twist that showed how Smile put friendship above else. Personally I love coming-of-age elements, when executed in a way I can love them; 3-gatsu and KLK are for me lovely examples that use their plot and "action" as vessels for growth, while focusing on other things too.
Speaking of FLCL, I couldn't get to like it one bit, I am among the few who actually dropped it hahahahahaha
By the way, I recommend you check out Chihayafuru for a quite unusual sports anime: it's a josei and a game/sport anime that focuses on a card game named karuta.
I agree, though I believe that the ending of Tatami Galaxy was also a bit predictable, due to the way the first episode kicks in the plot at its final parts. The message that resonated with me the most was how the world is a spectrum and not black-and-white. Ping Pong did win me more however because of its coming-of-age element, its fluid animation on matches and its comic-like direction, among others.
Monogatari is on my next-to-goes, though after I experiment with some short series and movies. Definetely will honor a fine Shaft production ^_^
Hello hello! Finished Tatami Galaxy; found the last two episodes to be a great way to close the series (e.g I appreciated its medium blending and its closing of parallel selves in a similar way of uniting Baccano's ensemble cast). I must say though that not all semi-episodic parts resonated with me equally, and did not always won me.
Have you watched btw Ping Pong the Animation? It's from the same director, and is an excellent blend of sports + coming-of-age! Speaking of Monogatari, I've reached up to Kizu, and I eventually intend to continue the series, heard the apex of its storytelling comes in s2.
I find it to be quite good, but I can't hide the fact that these parallel universes are somewhat confusing me, and the repetitions sometimes are fine with me sometime not. Some episodes resonate with me a bit more than others, but its aesthetics and uni settings are getting to me!
Bizarelly enough, I wasn't that put off by its rapid-dialogues, despite sometimes disliking them in other anime (e.g FLCL).
I'm not absolutely sure whether it's from Lagann-hen (the second movie) or the series proper, but it's definetely from the anti-Spiral arc.
As for Princess Kaguya: oh its aesthetics are TOP-NOTCH. It's less like a normal anime and more like a minimalistic animated painting. My third fave Ghibli movie ^_^
Just saw this, you may have found the answer by now but yes, they're all reboots. Since Kitaro is very historically significant in Japan, it gets a new reboot/adaptation every decade. You don't have to watch the previous ones to understand anything. The new 2018 one especially does a great job at explaining most of the background in the very first episode, so you should be fine.
If you ever want to know a little more about the backstory before starting it, you can just watch the first episode of Hakaba Kitaro (the first half of the episode is enough, the second half may not apply to all adaptations).
Yeah I really enjoy how the art and the sound blend amazingly well with the stories, it feels like you are meditating. I've heard about kino no tabi, I'm going to check it out eventually
Yes. At least I think it is. The To love ru manga being funny is the main reason for me giving it a 9. The anime was funny at times, but the comedy just worked much better in manga format
huh okay! i have a personal rule where i watch three episodes of an anime and then if i'm not invested i drop it, so i'll apply that to the former two. also sweet, i think that one is on my list too!
