Haven't watched or heard of it as I'm not really a fan of hollywood movies or non anime movies in general. Yes I hope so too, I have high hopes for it... well it's not like i want something amazing, but I just want a simple heart-warming story.
Ascius Apr 19, 2014 2:05 PM
No problem. I haven't heard of "50 dates" actually, but I was waiting for this series since it was announced.
StyleF1re Apr 18, 2014 2:39 PM
Yeah, it works very well with the somewhat easygoing aesthetic. Simple, yet effective. And as you said, genuine is the word. I put a lot of weight on that when I look into an anime. We'll see how it fares come June, but I love what I've seen so far.

Speaking of genuine, if you have time to start on Mushishi, do so. It's a series that I think will be around for as long as the human race exists... haha

But yeah. Just try some random shows and find out what you like.

Good to hear that. I don't want to get too caught in the hype or start expecting too much yet, but I feel as if that's the one new series that can do some damage this season.

Late reply, sorry... but thank you for the birthday wishes :)

Thank you! ^_^ glad you like it

Nice, making smiles brighter :D

Yeah, I have a few links in my profile, but here's a group shot from a recent show and here's a music video we filmed not to long ago ^_^
ODJ Feb 28, 2014 8:17 PM
Yeah, actually having a calendar date to go to the country would motivate, haha. I know I will go there sometime, I'm just guessing it won't be for quite a few years and will most likely be music related, so I'm hoping to be fluent by then :P

I have head of Lang-8 although I recall not really writing much and it kinda just fell off my radar. I'd say for now the 2 apps I use are good, just need to read a grammar book in there somewhere. I may be able to read and write and understand a good amount of words, but my grammar overall suck, lol >.<

If you ever wanna just drop a note (even if romaji) feel free :)

Otherwise, what else do you have going on? I'm a musician, but have a day job as an AV tech at Microsoft at the moment

for me...the Caps have been breaking my heart since the mid-90s...although as a Leafs fan, i know you know about hockey heartbreak :\
billmurderface Feb 27, 2014 10:15 AM
so are you a Leafs fan now that the Olympics are over?
ODJ Feb 26, 2014 7:39 PM
Nice, yeah I have a friend over in Japan that I text with a few times a week over Line. Still have to use my dictionary a bit, I'm getting more kanji committed to memory though because of Skritter. It's a subscription based web/mobile app but you have to actually write the kanji (proper stroke order) for a good majority of your study time. I also use iKnow, which is also subscription based, but it's a lot more listening, getting the correct answer then repeating the sentences. And both have pretty excellent spaced repetition algorithms so I fell my retention is pretty good. I'm into set 6, so I've got a vocabulary of at least 500 words now :D

One thing that keeps me a bit more motivated is that I volunteer at an anime convention and deal with a lot of Japanese guests and I also pay for the subscriptions to the apps, so better get some good use out of them so I'm not wasting money, lol.

Would you be interested in just some basic Japanese penpal'ing?
billmurderface Feb 26, 2014 11:26 AM
hahahahaha...well that's very gracious of you :P

one thing we can agree on...anyone but Russia right? :P
It’s time to ditch the text file.
