Oh cool, I've only actually seen the first episode of GTO a while ago, I thought it was pretty good and it's awesome that it inspred you to teach. You've made me want to watch it now, i've heard nothing but great reviews. However I watch my PTW list in order of ascending rank and I think GTO is second till last lol.
Oh thank God. Looks like I have similar tastes as the people in the club. I will probably check it out when I'm enrolled next year. I hope they're nice... Thanks, by the way!
Ohhhh, that's how it is. I totally get what you mean. That's a valid reason to leave. I may try and see how it goes. Sorry if this sounds like a judgmental question, but how is the....... normalcy of the members in general? I went to one meeting at my high school's anime club and this girl glomped me really hard and I had to pry her off me. Not a very good experience and I never went back. I also get how some people don't like Code Geass and that's okay. What are the tastes of the ARC? Do they usually like darker stuff like F/Z or do they like moe stuff from KyoAni?
Yes, SFU Altered Reality Club. I use to be a "prominent" member and this account was made back when I was still a member.
But I'm no longer part of it so I can't really tell you too much about more recent stuff. This may seem like an absurd reason to quit but I left the club because I felt that it was no longer about just anime.
To explain, it seemed to me that a majority of the members were all about criticism. I believe in enjoying anime without having to worry about every single little flaw with it. But from what I could tell, a lot of the members enjoyed picking apart anime and pointing out the problems. I joined the club way back when I was all about just watching anime and not worry about all the little flaws.
Also, I felt that we just had a different opinion of things. One time, during an anime showing, there was a pretty sad scene going on...I almost dropped a tear, but half the club in the room started laughing. Later, I asked a guy why he was laughing during that scene and he replied that it was so cliche and overused that it was hilarious. Honestly, I found the scene pretty dramatic and emotional...but I guess not everyone thought that way.
Honestly, I say, just join it and see how it goes. You might just fit in. Oh, and about Code Geass, that was from one time when the leader was discussing anime that were overrated and didn't deserve the hype they had. Well, honestly, he did say he enjoyed the first season but called the second season "flaming trash" with a good amount of members agreeing.
