Unless a series manages to keep up a rating of 7/8 or above in my head throughout, it's difficult to me to finish a show, which is why most of the anime on my completed list is an 7/8 or above. The scores I give all of my completed shows are based on 3 factors: 50% on how much I enjoyed the series as a whole as well as the characters (I LOVE character driven plots, and character development over a series), and 50% on the overall quality of the show OR how it moved me emotionally. If a show isn't meant to be emotionally moving, then I'll judge the other 50% by the overall quality only. I don't keep track of the manga I read. Also, as I started watching anime as a hobby in 2003, I haven't seen many titles before 2002 and I'm not as knowledgeable on titles before then.
Watching anime in any language but Japanese loses so much soul through translation (intonations, particle usage in sentences, grammar structure) that define the characters so well through dialogue, and the voices are worse as well (English and Chinese dubs are the worst).
