The good entries in the isekai genre can be counted on one hand, and none of them are the ones that everyone says "aren't like the other isekai, I promise!" If you feel the need to say this about every new isekai that comes out, it likely isn't true for any of them.
An adaptation that cannot stand on its own is not only a bad adaptation, but a bad piece of media.
