Your review about TTGL was everything I wanted to say lol

Great TTGL review. I don't see whats so great about it, its among the most boring anime I've ever seen.

Hilarious TTGL review. The amount of praise that show gets has always baffled me. I literally didn't give a shit about anything the entire show. Bored me to fucking tears.

Nice ttgl review. I am still amazed that you managed to complete the series unlike me who dropped it at ep8?

Hey dude, cool Durarara!! review you made, very cool, and it's definitely flat-out boring, overrated and humorless compared to Paranoia Agent, which handles the non-linear narrative and comedy much better.

All discussion aside,since it's not leading anywhere(You have your opinion,I have mine and I don't think either one of them is gonna change because of some stranger on MAL). Although I would propose?(I don't know the right term,I'm not a native-English speaker) that you give TTGL another try if you have the willpower to do it. I said willpower because you said you don't particularly like action shows.


And that's why I think Katanagatari is the show you will love. I found it best out of the 3(Cowboy Bepop and Samurai Champloo). It has a great deal of talk. Out of 42-3 mins of episode, those 2-3 extra minutes are fights(which are beautifully coreographed and animated). Which is not strange because Katanagatari was done by the same guy that did Monogatari series. The problem I had with CB and SC is that those characters that were there for one episode weren't memorable. That's where Katanagatari shines at,even those one episode characters are very diverse and memorable. It gave me a feeling I just witnessed best adventure when it ended. + it has unique art and min'yo singing(which I adore) and hip hop. What more can you ask for?

1. You might be right about the mystery part but if you take that away what does this show have? Pretty visuals,that's it. I mean Kayo is pretty one-dimensional character used for plot progress.She is abused by her parents and that's it.She doesn't get fleshed out until really later in the show when she trusts Satoru and is actually portrayed as real human being. As for Kenya,he is smart.Okay,we get it. But what are his motives? Furthermore he doesn't act according to his age. And Sachiko is the best mother ever? You said you had problem with characters that can be depicted in one sentence. And don't even get me started on the teacher. His motives are:''I'm serial killer,I'm gonna kill three girls(one of which is a boy btw,because that's the shit fans roll in nowadays).'' And then at the end of show he waits Satoru to wake up from coma just to kill him? But in the end it's all a trap. Sounds like some Code Geass bullshit(I had plan for your plan,with which you were planning to ruin my plan) which many anime fans glorify and think it's smart. I don't know,I might have missed something,feel free to enlighten me.

2.I found soundtrack of TTGL very diverse. It goes on from rock to hip hop and then opera as cherry on the top. It was directed by Taku Iwasaki who has done music for(Soul Eater,Rurouni Kenshin,Now and Then Here and There,this new JoJo and my favorite anime ever Katanagatari).Row Row Fight the Power being one of the OSTs(and one of my favorites) that gets your blood pumping like crazy. If you didn't have adrenaline rush watching TTGL in high school at that,sorry to say but you are one boring person. No offense.

3.I was very skeptical about Ping Pong at first,even though I like unique animation and visuals, Ping Pong was something different. I ended up loving it by episode 3. It has awesome development and one of the best I've seen at that. When we are on that topic, if you like watching episodic animes with good characters Katanagatari,Cowboy Bepop and Samurai Champloo is the way to go(I didn't check if you watched any of these,you might have).

In the end I'm glad we could resolve this as civilized people,feel free to message me when you want to discuss anime. I love good discussion.

1) I'm not comparing the two shows,I'm giving you example.We could also talk about Boku dake ga Inai Machi if you want.You gave it a 7.I found it very stupid with cardboard characters that are there only for plot progress.And it also has tag mystery but we already know it's teacher in like episode 3. And it's supposed to be surprising when he reveals it(not to mention he did this is the most stupid way)


2)You are mixing up facts and opinions.Fact is that TTGL has colorful,cartoony animation that was awesome back in 2007. Fact is that it's soundtrack is not bland. And it's also fact that S;G has smart premise. But it ruined it with harem elements and stupid comedy(Yes,touching person to find out gender is so funny,all while they are moaning like in hentai).That's an opinion. I quote my sister:''You have all of the ingredients to make a perfect chocolate cake but decide to add a giant pile of turds. That would be my definition of S;G. Ingenious premise, time travel without paradox but also stupid humor and harem elements...''. Now you might enjoy that comedy and I respect that and you should respect TTGL by not saying it's bland but rather that you didn't like it because FLCL was done by same studio with better characters.


3) I see you also like really intelligent,psychological animes(I mean all from Satoshi). I think this is the first thing we agree on. Oh and that Mirai Nikki and Akame suck ass.

Like I said,you can do to your review whatever you want but you are giving the people reading it a wrong image of the show. You say art and animation are bland while having Steins Gate on favorite anime list? Steins Gate has animation like every second anime nowadays. You say soundtrack is bland? It has mix of opera and hip hop and what does steins gate have? Oh right,it has generic piano music every anime nowadays has. And I'm not saying Stein;s Gate has bad music,don't get me wrong but it's way more bland than TTGL's. And you have no clue of character development clearly saying Simon is a shit character. He is 14. Do you want to say when you were 14, you wouldn't be scared of giant robots? Or you wouldn't stare at Yoko's tits? He evolves into a pseudo-Kamina as you are calling him and all the other characters because Kamina lives in all of them as an idea.Idea of freedom.But even there you are wrong. How do you explain Lord Genome,Rossiu and Anti-Spiral? But I guess since you were in high school you weren't paying attention and just stared as Yoko's tits just like Simon in first half of the show.

First of all I think we started on the wrong foot. I don't have problem you giving TTGL 3 or even 1/10. But your score is then 100% subjective and as such a review is not valid. For example, when critics are rating/reviewing a movie, they have to be 100% objective. If they don't like horror for example they have to rate it truly,not simply slap ''this is bland'' ''this is bland'' when it's simply not. I agree that story and characters are it's weakest point and it probably doesn't deserve 10 that I gave it,but my ratings are 90% subjective so I don't write reviews. TTGL isn't my favorite show,I just finished it yesterday so I started reading reviews. What's the big deal?

Lol at the Gurren Lagann review.You give fricking 3/10 and then you give Death Parade a 7 and Mirai Nikki an 8? And your favorite character is Kurise the tsundere from Steins Gate? What depth does she have? She is blander than any character in Gurren Lagann. Celestia? From Danganronpa? Really?
