Lol I learn Japanese through the cantonese language, I completely LOL'd at the word *daijoubu* because in chinese it means man. If you listen to some phrases, they are quite similar to cantonese. Well that's all I can help you to learn the basics of speaking/reading Japanese, I even bought the dictionary which is helpful at times ^_^.
