I love anime and manga and find it funny how during my late gradeschool days I was so anti-anime. Must have been because I wasn't in the country when the anime resurgence occurred...
Anyway, although I do not cosplay, collect anime/manga items obsessively or buy manga (sounds bad, but when I get enough money someday...), I am really a fan in my own way.
I like discussing anime/manga that I like in a serious light, and I find it interesting how many anime/manga seem really shallow (all aesthetics at first) but once you look into it, you find out how interesting and deep some ideas given focus are.
It's also a nice way to become interested in Japanese culture...though of course if you really want to learn about that, it would be far more accurate to look it up in books, or experience it yourself.
Hmm, well it's usually the case that I do not find main characters of a manga or anime I have read/watched the most interesting for me personally, as I happen to observe the side characters (underdog) much more critically. I like to know what makes them tick, their philosophies, their motives...basically, why they're the way they are.
Most of the best anime/manga quotes, I believe actually come from the antagonists, based from my experience. Anyway, I'm quite sure I've not completely covered all of the anime/manga I've come in contact to in my list, since a sharp memory is not my best personal attribute...Still, I'm always open to new stuff, especially about anime and manga, and I encourage suggestions and recommendations by anyone who wishes to post their comments here.
