Oh I see. Part of the reason why I'm hesitant to read the manga is that if there was an anime coming out, it would be a waste to experience such surreal and resonant stories without the music to back it up. The music in Mushishi sort of had a life of its own, especially since each episode had its own specific track.
To be perfectly honest though, I never actually thought pacing would ever be an issue when reading a manga since I can typically take it at my own preferable pace. However, when it comes to the Mushishi anime, which has god-perfect pacing I can pretty much see how anything would seem pale in comparison. Well, if it's probably not gonna come out, I should read through the manga sometime soon.
So general impressions of last season? And what are you looking forward to this summer's anime season?
I'm thinking of giving it a read but I'm still seriously taking into consideration the possibility that Mushishi might have a second season. Maybe it's never gonna happen but if it does, I'm willing to wait.
Is it any better than the anime, you think? Or does the conjunction of music and color give Mushishi its appeal?
Wow, that looks really sweet. I should really give it a go. So would you say it's similar enough that any Tatami Galaxy fan would find a familiar element in it or is it a completely different film that just slightly touches on a similar premise?
Ah yes. Clannad's an interesting choice though. And I can't say I'm perfectly a fan of Ouran's ending. It was the best part of the show but far from being in contention for best ending of all time.
My favorite endings for anime series' would probably be Gunbuster, Tatami Galaxy and Cowboy Bebop. Perhaps Aria as well.
Ah well there was this stretch where three straight episodes I believe had the same premise but ended differently. (I think... correct me if I'm wrong) And while initially I was always like "What? This again?", it always ended up with me being very entertained.
Every episode was a blast for me and the ending is one of my favorite endings of all time. Just fantastic! Nothing beats the Gunbuster ending though. *salutes* T__T
And yes Akashi is indeed the best! And Tatami Galaxy is amazing!
I see you gave it an 8. Which parts of the show did you find underwhelming? Did the constant repetition get boring for you or were you not a fan of the ending?

I believe we once had a conversation on best endings before. Was it you who said that E7's ending was his favorite?
