i love code geass and i have this tradition where i rewatch it every two years because i have not-so-good memory. so basically i get to experience watching it for the first time again and again! its genuinely so good that it makes me grateful i have terrible memory. wish i could forget how it ends though because that was the best part of the whole anime... i guess it tells how impactful and memorable it is...

one of the first manga i completed!! really brought me to tears because of its bittersweet-ness. most people know this story because of its anime (and its phenomenally awesome first episode) but the manga holds a special place in my heart, especially since the anime didn't adapt the manga other than the first season. the world building of the promised neverland is so special to me because it isn't as big, grand, and solid as many other animanga, like previously mentioned code geass, yet because of that it holds a lot of mystery and imagination to a horrible and wild world. while some characters don't necessarily stick to you (except isabella), the story, pacing, development, and world all come together in such a beautifully concise tale of children fighting to survive. not a typical "post apocalyptic" world or battle royale gimmick, but a frightening place where both the characters and the reader learn about together. p.s. DONT WATCH THE SECOND SEASON OF THE ANIME.

mainly because of code geass's alternate universe! (basically the 3 recap movies and then everything else except the main series) i think considering everything they've been through, especially in the series, its really nice to see them both change each other in many ways. maybe i'm very biased when i include cc's character (best mechanime girl!!!) but even the mal community cannot deny lelouch's greatness in terms of character. you can't even compare him to other characters, because each of them all have their complexities. same for lelouch, who is literally the coolest main character yet isn't too cool to seem inhuman. if you don't see what i mean, watch code geass! if you still don't see what i mean, WATCH IT AGAIN!! <3 p.s. its rlly nice how there isn't any forced romance too, you can interpret their relationship in anyway (even though theirs is pretty implied) but its nice how they're both smart characters (and not the usual happy & gloomy or strong & weak)
