All you have to watch is the original TV series, and after that, you could watch the movie. Even when the movie is marketed as an alternative to the tv series, the relationships that the characters have among each other are only shown in full in the tv series. So without knowledge of the TV series, the movie would be less impactful.
All the ones you've listed I've seen dubbed and totally agree with. I would also include Gungrave, Gankutsuou, Vampire Hunter D, Champloo, Bebop and Wolf's Rain.
Definitely, move Champloo up that watchlist, it's been in my top 20 for probably 8 years now lol One of the most enjoyable anime titles out there, at least for me that is. And when you see the Ed in relation to the show, your attachment to it will grow 10 fold.
Some shows are just better with English, Beck is def one of them. That ED is just so bittersweet. Really makes me feel nostalgic for things I've never even experienced. It's a pretty strange feeling. Check out the rest of the EDs while you're at it, I revamped my entire list, with a few new entries and new pics and all that jazz.
I watched it English dubbed. It's an anime that feels more at home with English performers than it does Japanese. All the more so given its clear direction towards the indie film scene.
