w o r d. thank you. Same, Code Geass is my top and one of my "five animes that changed my life forever"; so much of how i live by is shaped by CG. I favor Lelouch and Suzaku with equal love (maybe a bit more towards Lelouch). I didn't and couldn't bring myself to ever watch the movie, but death is a much easier escape than living, yet Suzaku still has to make up for Lelouch's sins (and his own), never regaining his personal identity again, while Lelouch just gets to be himself and chillax...

It's just complete utter crap.

C.C.'s motive is complete selfishness and even if it's quote "cute", CG has never been about a love story and it's so much more about the intertwined and complex relationships between Lelouch and the others around him.

I love Lelouch so much but it really would've been so much better if he was left dead. C.C. didn't need Lelouch's existence and completely "butterfly effect"ed the whole plot and setup out of spiral. C.C. was content with carrying lelouch's legacy by the end of R2, and then now we have a 360 degree turn and she's completely regained her humanity and became desperate.

Hey man, suddenly had a existential crisis and was doubting my thoughts about lelouch the resurrection. thank you for solidifying that and came across your review. everything you said was point blank and factual; i didn't even watch the movie and the whole trailer and premise SCREAMS what you just told me. my biggest annoyance is the complete disregard for suzaku. like just... ugh. thank you for making my day.

Really enjoyed your review of Yuri on Ice, your point about censorship was well-made. I didn't even realise the two had kissed in public in front of everyone until they were talking about their engagement and I did a double-take! I'm interested in English lit and storytelling devices so I'm definitely friending you to keep an eye on your reviews :)

Hey, nice review of that code geass movie, I like the part about it being a fandisk, that's pretty much how I felt about this movie, only made to satisfy the c.c/lelouch fans without respect for their characters

oh, that's good to know! do you think someone who hasn't read the novel can enjoy the donghua (tgcf)? i tried watching mdzs but i dropped after 5 episodes, the bromance was pretty strong there and the plot wasn't really my thing, so i don't want to reexperience the same thing :c (btw thanks for accepting the friendship request! :D)
