I dropped 86 at episode 4, because the war doesn't make any sense. When there is war, there should be a motive or history behind it, the anime failed to explain that in the first 4 episodes. Then I made research on it on the 86 wiki and understood what is Legion and etc. I got pissed off at the anime for failing to explain the basics of the main conflict of the story.
The above reasons I have is also why, the series did no make a huge uproar as a popular series. The idea of AI going rogue is something people should be aware as a real problem, also the war depicted in the story is close to our real world history. The anime should've made the same approach as the first season of Re:Zero and Oshi no Ko and make the first episode 60 minutes or even 120 minutes, in order to get the viewer to understand the basic conflict in the story. As you know villains are very important part of story telling, and the villain in the anime till episode 4 has no face. Maybe someday I would watch the whole series, but as of now, it will remain dropped.
Long story short - not my cup of tea at the moment. Perhaps if I am in the mood someday. Does it become better in later episoder or it needs to go to season 2?
