Ok I will be honest. reading your review of UQ holder. This actually intrigues me more to want to read the manga. What you are claiming as a detriment to your experience of how they Negified the series, actually interests me because I think that is one thing that I did not like about the early parts of the manga. I like the idea that ken akamatsu is incorporating more of a consistency to the story and tying it up with Negima since that is the foundation of the negi verse. So i know your review was supposed to be a negative towards the manga, it actually achieve the aposite and made me more interested in wanting to read it.

and FYI. yeah fairy tail is trash lol. Agree with you there. Probably one of the worst shonen manga's ive ever read that is more like reading a fanfiction then actually experiencing a solid shonen story. In terms of battle shonen, one piece is probably my favorite over all. But you have to understand that Negima and UQ holder are not pure battle shonen manga, they have shonen elements to them yes, but they are also harems as well. With harem, there is a very different set of rules and narative that consistutes that specific type of genre so you have to know what you are getting into.

Well the only real thing that is new is Nino's voice because we usually get pop voices but this is a straight up alternative voice.

I think it might be better to think more like:

-What is the series like and what does it try to do? (You covered this)
and more importantly
-How successful is it in doing this?
I think this is a good basis for critique.

Dark shows vary a lot in quality. If it's a 6, that can suggest it's not very deep or memorable.

I've not seen NHK, but it seems a bit out of left field to penalise it just for committing to its tone and problem that it's addressing. It's definitely head over heels darker than your favourites, barring maybe Steins;Gate, so I can see that it wouldn't resonate, though a tonal choice isn't necessarily a flaw per se, unless it's played for exploitation, which NHK certainly doesn't seem to be doing.

haha, for me Haru is one of the worst characters iI'e seen in the 400 anime I've completed XD
But yeh i still don't think SAO should be a 1 there are pretty bad anime out there far worse than what SAO can get but than again you might not of seen them if you just started anime :D
But this is just me anyway everyone has their own opinions :D
