How I do my ratings:
8-10 - To cross the 8 mark, the work in question has to have a substantative and lasting emotional impact on me. The score is largely a matter of degree.
7 - Anime I'd heartily recommend to the right person, but not one I think back much on. Probably little to no personal emotional attachment, but I definitely largely enjoyed my time with it. This is also the domain of shows I enjoyed for how stupid they were, regardless of their own self-awareness.
6 - Very rough around the edges, probably had some memorable elements that were unfortunately brought down by their execution. Overall positive feelings, but far from a favourite.
5 - Can mean one of two things: either the anime was so batshit and all over the place that I don't know what else to rate it, or it was so middling and mediocre that it left me with no particular impression.
4 - Poor, but not offensive or actively irritating. Most likely has some strong points here and there that made me keep watching.
3 - Annoyingly bad. These are anime that actively bothered me with the way they went about telling their stories.
2 - The most positive thing I can say about these is that they had a character design I sorta liked, or some shots or OST tracks that I didn't hate. Very minute praise.
1 - Reserved for the worst of the worst. These are one-of-a-kind works in how much they fail.
