Nah, I don't know him personally. I'm just a fan :) I do play the piano, but I'm a complete beginner tbh >.< How about you?
Manga that are often compared to Kurosawa include "My Heart is Beating" and "Sundome", largely because of the erotic undertones, eccentric sexual fetishes, and coming-of-age themes. They're both fantastic, and have been in my favourites list at one point or another.
Like yourself, I was looking for manga similar to Onani Master Kurosawa for a looong time after reading it. Between the works of Asano Inio, Sundome, and My Heart is Beating, I was definitely satisfied.
