Hey!! :)) I hope you are doing well and that you're happy. I'm sad because I saved a draft to my response to you, but I can't find it, so I'll have to start from scratch. x.x I don't know when exactly MyAnimeList allowed us to see each other's profiles and comment like this, but regardless, I'm happy we could continue our conversation! :D
I want to thank you for encouraging me to write more reviews. I watched A Summer Snow Rendezvous on Sat. July 21 - Sun. July 22 and just posted a review last night (my time zone). I feel that although I could tweet my thoughts and have verbal conversations with peers, reviews are a lovely place where you could share your thoughts on a series. Writing reviews is such a lovely way for you to reflect on a series as a whole, including your emotions. :)) And ahaha, when I woke up in the morning, I was surprised to see that one person already found my review helpful. xDD For a moment, I considered that that one person may be you, but I'm informed that you haven't been online since Fri. July 13. Not that I need many people to read my posts and give me a thumbs-up, but it is a pleasant feeling to know that someone put their time into reading my review (but omg, isn't that SO quick? O.O I saw that they found my review helpful about 10 hours later when I woke up) and saying it was helpful made me feel happy too. :)) I type posts for my own sake, but it is nice when it's able to help or open other people's eyes too.
My paper was about how KPop "borrowed" western music that came to their country with globalization then how they made it their own national identity. So I need to focused on how KPop use the aspects/components of western music for their own music. And I couldn't found these aspects in anime, so I couldn't choose anime as the topic haha.
I see where you're coming from. I know that there are talks of k-pop being globalized more and more over the years (more than when I got into k-pop 9-10 years ago haha), including PSY's music and talks of artists making their debut in the US. People would argue that k-pop has its own distinct sound that cannot be found anywhere else. Anyway, it sounds like you researched your paper well and you had fun with it, so I'm happy for you. :)) You may not have found aspects of how anime is globalized, which is perfectly fine since you did so well on your k-pop paper anyway, and you know the glories of anime in your heart, even if there isn't in-depth research out there. <33
Ah, you had a job interview? How did that go?? :D And yes, I finished the spring term. I'm now engaging in my summer course, which will end in two weeks. :)) I'm doing well. Not too worried and trying to do my part in living in the moment. I find that it's too easy to overthink the future, but really, we need to live well in the present for the future to arrive!
Ah, but replying to a response doesn't necessarily mean you're attacking someone's views. You could view it as a passionate discussion, at most. Engaging in conversations is a way for me to let out my thoughts and FEELS. There's a thrill to it when someone doesn't reply because they have nothing insightful to say HAHA. xDD But anyway, do what makes you comfortable. Whether you engage in a conversation or not, that's your choice. :))
Momentum and Dark Heaven are two distinct webtoons, yes. You could read them at Lezhin, where you could support the authors, or read them on mangago.me, where I spread my BL feels LOL. xDD Have fun reading! :))
I see~ so you prefer BL with characters that already comfortable with their or other characters' sexuality. I understand why you prefer that. Happy & healthy relationship is always better.
YES! Healthy and happy give me SO MANY feels. *_____* It bothers me too much when one person degrades the other. It's SO annoying when you read comments like someone not wanting to bottom because it'll 'ruin' their manhood LOL (or, when they say they don't want to be a woman -__________-). Toxic masculinity needs to go away. It's not about what society constructs a man to be, but what you're comfortable with and want to do! ;------; My sister told me about how the Greeks didn't differentiate sex roles based on whether you're a male or a female, but whether you're a bottom or top, which sounds lovely and reasonable! <33 Sexuality shouldn't be discriminated again but be accepted and even celebrated if we want to.
If/when you write your review, feel free to let me know. I could be your first reader :D
WOO HOO! You are considering reading King's Maker :D I may sound biased but comparing King's Maker to Yona of the Dawn could be such an insult LOL. Yona of the Dawn has gone downhill in such a disappointing level, I'm not actively reading it right now... I think reading King's Maker could help people understand Su-won's perspective (if they don't already), but damn, that society and the ruler truly had me see why people could be so desperate to rebel, even if they know there is a possibility they could fail. I wish Su-won's perspective was explored in-depth, but nope, Kusanagi just had to choose Yona as her main character. :/
For now, I'm not worried about people betraying Su-won. I think Su-won has a rich insight, since he considers people's qualities and their intentions. :)) I would love it if Su-won rules forever, but I don't know if that will happen since he's not the titular character... "-__________- It's such a waste when authors have rich side characters but choose boring folks as their main characters.
I don't remember if I read all the Replace chapters, now that we're talking about it... I wish they were all animated!! The fanbase is big enough for the production team to profit to be honest. :/ I would love to see my Teiko boys together again and the distinct high school teams during their off-court moments. Although, yay that there are drama cds floating around on YouTube...? I just didn't have enough of that series. T________T Fujimaki ended the series so abruptly, I still remember how upset I was LOL!! Fujimaki ended the serialization right when the game between Rakuzan and Seirin ended. We didn't even see Kuroko's birthday celebration in the manga!! T______T
AND OMG, I know what you're talking about! It's hilarious that no matter what the Rakuzan players did, they could not defeat Akashi! XDD The Uncrowned Kings couldn't even defeat Akashi when they were playing a card game that is entirely up to luck... LOL, even luck is on Akashi's side. <3
^ Although, that chapter specifically was so sweet because that was where Akashi revealed that he had fun in middle school without any one moment standing out to him. Akashi was asked if it was tough to be the captain of the Generation of Miracles, and Akashi revealed that they were "an interesting confederation" and that there was a mediator among them. :)) It touches my heart that Akashi viewed his friends so fondly, even if that meant he had to carry the burden of changing himself to keep the team together. Akashi was selfless in that sense. After all, Akashi prioritizing winning was what allowed the Generation of Miracles to grow on their own without forcing them to include teamwork when they simply didn't feel like it. If Akashi forced the team to work together like Kuroko desired, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't care even more than they were already beginning to.
Favourite chapters in the Replace series... I have a soft spot for moments between the Generation of Miracles in general. I remember that one chapter where Akashi told Momoi to walk home with Kuroko. Momoi did go with Kuroko, but Midorima, Murasakibara, Kise, and Aomine were also present LOL. All of them went to a convenient store together where they could supposedly photocopy notes too. But the photocopier was very crowded and to Murasakibara's discontent, they didn't have the flavour he wanted. Kuroko said he knew of a place that had Murasakibara's desired snack and a photocopier. Midorima was fixated on beating Akashi (lol) and learned that Aomine passes from Momoi's notes alone, so Midorima wanted to photocopy Momoi's notes and in return, he gave her a lucky pencil. Kise went along to have fun with everyone, and he and Aomine played DDR. Kuoroko won at DDR and gave Murasakibara his favourite snack. Momoi was getting hit on and she was rescued by Aomine and I think Kuroko too. They all took a photo together in a photobooth. But they decided to keep the event a secret from Akashi and they had to tell Murasakibara not to tell Akashi LOL. Turns out, Akashi told Momoi to walk home with Kuroko to prevent Kuroko from playing basketball on his way home... Kuroko sprained his wrist, so he didn't play during practice. I think the same guys who hit on Momoi were at some streetball court, so Kuroko and Aomine joined in to play and tell them to leave Momoi alone. <-- Darn, typing all of this gave me FEELS... A group of diverse individuals who accepted each other and got along ;------;
Victor and Yuri are comfortable together, so I am happy when I see them happy. :) Speaking about comfortable pairs... Are you watching Banana Fish?? The series is technically not a BL, but I adore the trust Ash and Eiji have in each other. Three episodes are out so far, and I have to say, I'm kept on edge! I didn't read the manga, so I don't know what will happen next too. In fact, I found translations to Kenji Nojima (Eiji's voice actor)'s interview last night: https://walangmaehustisya.wordpress.com/2018/07/22/english-translation-kenji-nojima-pash-interview/ "Comforting love" is a pleasant way to describe Ash and Eiji's feelings for each other. :)) Note that there is a moment described in the interview that happens early in the anime, so that's a spoiler warning ;---;
I go on FatedFujoshis' website to watch and listen to BLCDs. They do a beautiful job at syncing the manga images to the audio *_____* And I'm happy that you're enjoying Twittering Birds Never Fly! :) I agree about Yashiro and Doumeki's attraction, which happens naturally. I like that the two go at their own pace and accept each other. Yashiro knows about Doumeki's family background, without judging the youngster. Doumeki is aware of the names people call Yashiro, but he is faithful to Yashiro and recognizes how fragile Yashiro is. Doumeki has the desire to protect Yashiro because of his genuine care for his boss. Yashiro doesn't understand what Doumeki could love or cherish about him, which tells us about how unloved he’s been growing up. :'((
The translators for Caste Heaven aren't the fastest, but they get the job done! :)) Raws to chapter 19 are out and right now, chapter 18 is already translated. Will you read that too??
I still haven't made the time to read and listen to Kotonoha no Hana. When you said, "The voice acting and the sound effects in the cd sounded really beautiful," I already had a wave of feels from that line alone. T.T If there are a wave of EMOTIONS, omg, that will definitely get me.... </3 Thank you for providing the link to the translations of the drama cd!! :)) And I'll check out the other links too, when the time arrives.
It has been a long time. It felt like MAL went down for forever (and STILL isn't 100% back up - seriously what's the deal).
Evangelion is at least worth watching. Some people hate it, but I feel it's good enough to figure out if it's your thing or not. FranXX though just keeps getting worse. I'd definitely watch Evangelion first. Some people like FranXX, but I think it's gotten so dumb it's almost funny its such a train wreck now.
I didn't know Tsumiki no ie won anything! I'm glad it did, because it is really a testament to the story that it's like 10 minutes long and can make so many people relate to it.
I saw Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Okayama, and Hagi. All of those cities were so beautiful and everyone was super nice. I highly recommend visiting.
The Grand Canyon is really something else. I saw it once when I was younger. Pictures can only do so much :) Haha, yes, I'll have to visit someday and see different places in SE Asia.
Yes, I'm downloading Bakuman right now. Kinda curious how the story will unfold in the movie.
A soft spot for "idiot" characters... That's a unique soft spot you have there. xD
Sometimes I like "idiot" characters too, like Kaminari Denki from Boku no Hero Academia. Their cluelessness feels refreshing.
Yeah, watching Korean drama is really tiring. It took me days to finish Goblin, but it's truly worth it. The ending is a good one, I'd say.
I'm about to enter my final year of undergraduate school. I mean I was supposed to be graduating by now, but because of some circumstances I need to stay one more year haha.
I'm currently on vacation. I do various activities like watching anime, Korean drama, movies, western TV series, reading interesting books, and playing games.
I have finally finished watching Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan 2, offu! Could another favorite character of yours be Akechi Touma?
May I know what kind of job you are looking for? Is it like working in an office or something?
So you're also a novelist! That sound very interesting! What is the genre of your story?
no biggie! completely understandable since mal was down haha
ooh sweet. don't spoil anything for me please :) super excited for the third season coming out soon ahhh
i haven't played the visual novel lmao. i want to too, but i can't find it ;_;
omg you should totally watch it then! do you have netflix? i believe it's on netflix
there's gonna be like ova, so i think it'll continue from there
