Seeing Book of the Atlantic during Madman Anime Festival in June? I have no idea what it's gunna be about but that's usually for the better.

Hey. You going to Supanova next month?

Man, I can't believe it's been almost a year already.
elbaldo Dec 4, 2015 3:01 AM
The only thing about One Punch Man I don't like is that it's airing. I just want more episodes now!

I'm unlikely to be attending the Gold Coast Supanova.

Going into a 2-cour, I try to avoid thinking about the fact that I'll probably still be watching it in 5-6 months. Now days I'd prefer to wait till a show that I think might be good has finished airing before starting it, but since my friends started getting into anime I pretty much have to watch it week by week if they are. They don't seem to understand that I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING.
*Clears throat*
But anyway, long story short, I had a facebook group chat muted for 6 weeks because I wasn't watching One Punch Man.

RightStuf only sells North American and Japanese DVDs and Blu-rays, right? So I'd guess you have a region-free player? Looking at their site now, they've got some mad deals going, but a big thing about owning a blu-ray for me is being able to watch it with family at Christmas, Easter and whenever else, aswell as being able to lend it to friends. In fact I lent my sister a few movies just this weekend. So what I'm saying is, as amazing as it would be to get the 2007 Fate/Stay Night anime on on blu-ray for $25, I wouldn't feel like I was getting as much value ):

My sister got a photo with Christopher Judge and also got an autograph from him. When she told me it cost her $90 I was pretty much like

I was keeping an eye out for people wearing black and yellow in the hopes that maybe I'd get to say hi to you in person lol. Unfortunately I only managed to find a few people dressed as that one Vocaloid, the character from RWBY and someone in a pretty awesome Effie Trinket outfit.

Hey my 2 favourite songs from the album are End of an Empire and Just Like You. I also really like Down to Earth and Breakout. I kind of agree with you, though, I preferred the first 2 albums.

Did you never get around to watching Food Wars? I remember you mentioned it when we were talking about upcoming anime a while ago. I thought it was really enjoyable for the most part. I loved the comedic timing and the plot pacing but there were a few things that bugged me, like some of the character designs aswell as the nature of the fanservice. There's really not even that much fanservice in the show, but it's always the same so towards the end it just felt like fanservice for the sake of fanservice.

Oh and the people I'm wanting to see are Nick Frost and Chris Sabat.

Ok now it's more likely than not that I'll be going. Luckily, on the saturday, the two people I'm most interested in seeing have seminars scheduled, whatever that means lol.
elbaldo Nov 16, 2015 8:21 PM
Definitely not cosplaying. Have plans to go on the Saturday but might not go at all.

But anyway, I wanted to ask; now that Celldweller's End of an Empire album has been fully released, what do you think of it?
elbaldo Nov 9, 2015 6:26 AM
You going to supanova at the end of the month?
elbaldo Jun 30, 2015 7:44 AM
Yo. How's it going? Is there anything you're really looking forward to seeing this upcoming season?
Rupleteaser May 3, 2015 4:57 AM
That's a shame, but it's understandable since it's not exactly easy to get there compared to the comfort of Brisnova. I was actually pretty surprised how much I enjoyed the Gold Coast one though. The main showroom is tiny but the foyer is wonderful for doing laps, what with the double floors and all.

Good to see you're still working hard at your Japanese skills. I've admittedly been pretty slack since I graduated, but I'm trying to push through the powers of procrastination to get at least some revision going. Doing a course would be a lot easier to keep that up though, so you're pretty lucky.

I've been pretty well, myself. As I mentioned, I graduated last year, so that was all fine and dandy and this year I'm looking at doing an exchange to an international school in Japan for a month or so (If I can scrounge up the money for it, that is). Apart from that though, I've basically just been living the sweet NEET life for a bit.

Probably for the best, I didn't get past the planning stages. My mother was rather concerned about the springs and such, so I ended up dropping the idea. Instead, I got myself a cosplay of the Vocaloid Kaito which I used for Brisnova last year and one of the Goldnova days. Here's a picture of me with a Phoenix Wright (I really wish I didn't lose my wig cap for that day.): http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae121/Rupleteaser/10509749_1430195737201178_8270267504933643729_n_zpsbj6pkjrb.jpg

However, now I am actually making a cosplay and it's coming together quite nicely. It's of Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends With You if you've ever played it. Hopefully it turns out all right, but it's a fun experience regardless.

Oh yeah, and thanks for the tip on checking for VNs. I've been able to dabble in the likes of Ever17 and Rewrite since (Yeah, only two but my laziness knows no bounds) and I've enjoyed them thoroughly.

Heya Honeythief! It sure has been awhile since we talked, but the blame's on me for that, so I do apologize wholeheartedly there.

I was at Supanova on the weekend and thought that you might have been around that reminded me to finally see how you were doing. So in light of that, how have you been doing? :P
elbaldo Apr 1, 2015 1:32 AM
Don't worry I thought Roberta's Blood Trail was Roberta's Blood Trial for, like, several months. I didn't realise until I took a close look at the cover while I was at Sanity one day. Luckily I don't know anyone that has watched or intends to watch Black Lagoon.

Unfortunately none of the stores you mentioned are easily accessible for me. so I'll probably just see how Book Depository goes. I'd probably start by buying some Bakuman seeing as I already have the first 2 volumes and I'm really liking it so far.

I feel like you actually put more consideration into special features than me lol. Seeing as I just use a standard PS3 to play my blu-rays, if I'm interested in an anime that gets released here, but it has no interesting extras, then it just becomes a lower priority for me to pickup. I put pretty high value on episode commentaries, though, they can be hysterical.

I see Amanda Lee just uploaded a new cover, lol...

Just skimming over this Book Depository site, they have everything I'm interested in, all at a lower price than Madman is offering. Plus free shipping? It... it seems too good to be true lol. I'm guessing there's a minimum order value or a really long delivery time or something? Anyways if you know some stores that sell manga around Brisbane I'd appreciate the info.

I might give Shokugeki no Souma a go, especially if it's on AnimeLab. The synopsis on MAL seems pretty legit, but that Ecchi tag worries me.

I can't say I know the feels, sorry. The only figure I own was a gift from my sister. It's one of the first that comes up on a google image search so I put a couple of the photos into an imgur album http://imgur.com/a/7IFgF
I do, however, have an online friend that has told me about some of his figure purchases and damn they can be expensive. I think I'll be sticking to blu-rays and manga lol.

Speaking of blu-rays; I bought Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 during Siren's recent sale. Cost came to just under $26 including postage compared to the $50 in-store at JB. I forgot to check for any special features before buying it so I guess I'll just have to find out when I watch it, which could be exciting... or disappointing.

Do you take into consideration extras such as commentaries, special episodes or creditless OPs/EDs etc. before buying anime DVDs/blu-rays?

I discovered Amanda Lee a bit over a year ago when I came across her Magia cover, but it was her Guilty Crown covers that convinced me to subscribe.

Man, I really wish there was a nearby store that I could buy manga from. Shipping fees and knowing that there's a slight chance that it'll be lost in the mail are just too discouraging. Also, assuming this is everything crunchyroll has on sale that I'm looking at, the only books that I'd be interested in would be Black Butler, but there's only vol. 3 onwards.

Seeing as I haven't really felt like watching anime lately, the only thing I'll be watching for sure during the Spring season will be Fate/Stay Night, but I might give the new digimon series a go if it's on AnimeLab. Is there anything that you think looks promising?
