Wow, the first time I met someone with amazingly high anime compatibility..

This is random but I just have to comment. Sorry to bother you XD

Yeah, it's annoying how so many anime fans think what they are doing is somehow totally legitimate. I used to be completely against downloading, but then I found sites like TokyoToshan and it became the norm for my anime watching, but that lead to music and films too, which normally I'd buy.
A little rant now and again is fine! I don't know how you'd layer fansubs over a DVD, unless you can just load the file in VLC, but then again, is the fansub file itself legitimate? It's using the names of the characters and, while not making a profit, is using a copyrighted product to get circulation or something.

Hi there. I just say your comment about unlicensed anime and the whole excuse than anime fans have to legitimise downloading fansubs. Well, I used to agree completely with what you are saying. But recently I've been getting into new stuff and the difference in quality is amazing between the generally well-made fansubs (with all the attention to detail and passion that the job requires) and the often sterile and lifeless subs that licensing companies put on Western DVDs. Dubs are often not even worth bothering with. Do you think there is a legal answer for fans wanting well-subbed anime?

I can tell you are a big Akiyuki Shinbou fan! YES! Shinbou is the man! Oioi, if you head over to my blog, I've got a section on directors - did a HUUUUGE history of Shinbou column if you're interested ~_^
It’s time to ditch the text file.
