It all started when a friend of mine bad in school started coming to my place and download a mysterious, yet "foolish" (so I thought at the time) anime about an orange hair character with a big sword waving that thing arround. If you can't already tell, it was Bleach. I started watching eventually due to the curiosity.

Ofcourse, I had watched Pokemon, Dragon ball, Sailor Moon back when I was even younger. But that concept of what anime was, started with Bleach! It's a nice start.

After that I watched Angel Beats and Soul Eater, it really gave me a grasp of the world of anime. And finally my first ever anime marathon was Bakemonogatari, the 1st season, watched it one night! It remained my favourite series since then.

I also like manga a lot, but I hate to read on a screen. So I pretty much just read what I can get my hands on (which gets expensive so I can't read that much). There's a couple exceptions, but that's it.

Me and my friend still laugh about it all the time, how he created the "monster" of anime I am today. A few years back I even started to learn Japanese by myself and got myself a japanese teacher in Portugal (which I think it was luck and fate all mixed up because it's very hard, believe me, and it was by chance! I was just walking to the bus station and saw a note in a shop window about lessons)

After that, I finally manage to go live in Tokyo, Japan! For about 7 months, it was a difficult and very expensive process, but so worth it. (message me if you wanna know about it, ill be happy to tell you).

I was lucky enough I was hable to share a few of thosem onths with one of my best friends who also traveled there on an internship. We kinda planned to go more or less at the same time before hand! Always good to share your experience with someone you know.

I also went on a road trip to the beach with my japanese coworkers, which was amazingly fun, I even got to drive back to Tokyo, which was about 6h+!

In the end, because I was working and studying at the same time I did not went to most places I wanted, but I wouldnt trade this 7 months for the world :)

I met a lot of people, and I made some great friends, even got my own Harem! jk, but here's a photo:

All this to say I had a good time, and I know many anime fans want to go there and they should do their best for it because it's worth the effort.

I sadly had to return to portugal and i'm doing what I can to comeback to Japan. I do speak japanese, not at an amazing level but enough to get by and have a n4 level last time I checked. I can get by really well if just with current dialogue.
