Also I didn't know Tokimemo Girl's Side had an English translation so I'll be checking that out!
If you don't mind me asking, what is it that makes Kyou Kara Ore Wa one of your favorite anime/manga series? I've had the anime on my planning list for quite some time but never got around to watching it.
Also, if you liked watching the first two seasons of Kaguya, I highly, highly recommend you watch Ultra-Romantic, the latest season. It really was very impressive and I think you'll enjoy it quite a bit!
i understand what you mean about the ecchi, it's not for everyone!!! it's okay, don't feel sorry.
if you like the artstyle, the mangaka also put out another sort of a delinquent manga called "Midori Days" it seems weird with a wild story concept but it's main character has an interesting design!
don't be afraid to message me anytime, i'm always checking and updating my MAL. open dm / comment policy i practice.
outrage girl shiomi for me was an amazing experience because i've always wanted the "small but badass" girl trope to the extreme, it's why i love shiomi.
the ecchi jokes i feel were mild and never really hindered much to my enjoyment of the story or characters (i'm used to it).
besides shiomi, i loved ishikawa.
overall, the manga felt like something of the past, as someone who's watched a lot of OVAs / ONAs that were made in the 80s - 90s.
i really was surprised after reading that it came out in 2016, it's art style mixed with the moods and such felt oldschool which i really liked.
don't apologize for your comment or anything, i really appreciate it, i'm quite interested in what lead you to my profile though.
hope you have a good day too.
ps: i saw you liked japanese delinquency, i recommend sakigake otokojuku (the otaku must watch!)
You did a good job with Taro's character design, I'm sure you'll come up with an awesome backstory and personality for him as well! All I know for sure is that he's a good boy and I want to pinch his cheeks ksksksksk.
I actually already knew that his childhood friend was a girl, I saw the art in your twitter uahsuhasj, they make a cute couple either way, I'm just also a yaoi junkie.
Oh that's really cool, I'd love to be mutuals as well, I still might have an old twitter account that I've been thinking of reviving for quite some time while I still have followers there, might delete the old tweets and start fresh on newer communities, I'll be sure to follow you than.
Thank you! I actually had a pretty good night sleep, I dreamed of something really cool but I don't remember what it was, I just remember remembering it was cool after waking up if that makes any sense auhsuahsj, hope I dreamed I was a cool, stylish delinquent in 80s japan kicking some ass lmao.
Funny thing is that there's actually a manga called Drop where the main character tries to become a delinquent after reading delinquent mangas, it's really funny but there hasn't been any updates on the translation since Team Crazy Road-racing (wacky name I know) stopped with most of their scanlations.
I had plenty of fun as well! Since I left twitter a year ago I haven't really talked with anyone about the mangas I'm into, I don't want to look even more nerdy to my IRLs lmao. I should also be thanking you for responding to everything, I feel like a talk a lot more than I should so it's amazing to me that you didn't get bored of my spiel, hope we can interact even more in the future!
Loved his backstory btw, so he is more of a normal guy with a delinquent style who has a strong sense of justice? Or does he pick fights just because he is short-tempered and not necessarily lead by a sense of justice? I feel like I'm more involved in his story than I should be at this point ksksksksk. And please tell me his childhood friend is a boy, I need my BL fix!
Both stories not only involve cats (which is already a bonus for me) but they also seem to be made by delinquent junkies like us! With constant references to classic bosozuku tropes but with cats instead of people. I hope you have fun reading them, and even more fun in your journey thru delinquency!
I'll definitely check out your work as well! I can't not support my fellow compatriots aushuahsjak. Might make a twitter account so I can follow more artists in the genre.
I'll be heading to bed now, sadly I can't commit to the delinquent lifestyle myself so I can't be late to school tomorrow, hope you have a good night or rest of your day since I don't know what time it is for you, had fun talking to you.
And you don't need to force yourself thru ecchi focused shows, I have my fair share of ticks and turn offs relating to the mangas I read so I completely understand (I once got into a argument in a bosozuku scanlator's discord server over the necessity of ecchi in shounen and if it can ruin a manga, at the end I realized that ecchi has it's audience and when done right it can help a show, I'm just not the target audience for a very obvious reason).
For the not ecchi focused mangas (can't vouch for the adaptions) I can recommend the classic manga/ova Crows and its sequel Worst (they also have a bunch of interesting spin offs and live adaptions), Nyankees, Ochanigosu, Rojiura Brothers, A-bout and Rookies. Nyankees and Rojiura Brothers might be the best picks for you.
And about the little brother thing, I find it funny how Tora's image fits right into that category auhsuahsja, I can perfectly see his older sister patching him up after he got injured in a fight.
And I understand the problem you have with GTO and Junai Gumi, can't say I blame you, I really can't stand much ecchi either, so much so that I usually have the tag blacklisted when searching for stuff to read, (well, besides ecchi in BLs but thats another story and it's rare for BLs to be tagged as ecchi) I just give delinquent mangas a pass because I'm borderline obsessed with them and because sex/sexual-deviance was undeniably a present theme in Japanese delinquent culture (maybe as an act of rebellion against the more puritan tendencies of Japanese social life? I'm not sure). Bad news is that most delinquent mangas have a heavy use of the theme but if you want I can search in my manga list for some without it.
I think I like Kou for his """narcissism""", I really like how certain he is in his abilities to capture Hanako and how almighty he cutely tries to look in front of Nene, later on in the manga that trait of his is worked on a lot and it's so lovely. I'm drawn into """narcissistic""" characters for some reason (consider me a Karamatsu girl[boy] aushausjhuk).
Be sure to give them all a change! Or not lmao, as I said I'm pretty much an Evangelist going door to door spreading the word of bosozuku sksksksks.
And again, no problem at all! I myself am not that used to commenting on peoples profiles or talking to people thru MAL, especially when I didn't know them from anywhere else so this has been a nice new experience for me as well.
I'm glad you've started reading Kyou Kara, the manga after all this time is still my favorite piece of media ever, (I'd recommend reading from the beginning of course but I won't lie I also started reading manga like that). I'm sure you'll get used to reading mangas online in no time!
I really love Kou, just want to pinch his cute little cheeks, I re-read a lot of Hanako-kun just the other day and couldn't stop obsessing over that guy.
Btw, sadly (like many other delinquent mangas from the early 80s) there isn't much of Bakusouzoko scanlated out there but it is still an enjoyable read. Good luck getting into delinquent manga, it's something I whole heartily enjoy, I'm basically a bosozuku evangelist at this point kskskskks
Also you have Kou as a favorite character so I'm sure you have good taste.
