About Me

Hello my name is Nezuko Kamado. I'm the younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. Formerly human, I was attacked and turned into a Demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. I'm one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

My Appearance

I am a petite young girl with fair skin, visibly large, prominent fangs, and sharp, claw-like nails that fade to red where they point. Her hair is long, black and reaches just below her waist, turning a vermilion color as it passes my elbows, and appears to be crimped into large, straight ridges, worn side-swept drastically to her left. I had soft-looking, pale pink eyes that appear a lighter color around the rims of their irises, slanted downwards towards the sides of my face and framed by notably long eyelashes, the pupils of which can appear slit as she transforms. According to Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko was known as a great beauty in their home town.

I wears a light pink kimono with a hemp leaf pattern, the lining a paler pink, with a red and white checkered obi and a thin piece of orange thread looped and knotted around her waist, another band of green above it. Over this, she sports a long, dark brown haori that reaches past her knees, as well as pink zori sandals and white socks, wrapped with thick pieces of black material. I also wears a small pink ribbon to the left of her head, to keep my hair out of my face, and the bamboo gag Giyu Tomioka gave to me, which is secured around her jaw with a strip of red cloth.

When I'm transforms into my berserk Demon form during my fight with Daki, I loses both of my gag and footwear, as well as the sleeves of her haori and kimono. I grows a short white horn on the right side of her forehead, and a vein-like pattern appears around my left eye, but my most striking new feature is the red and green vine-like pattern that covers her skin, circling around her arms, legs, and chest.

As a human, I had a very similar appearance, the only differences being her lack of Demon-like traits, vermilion hair, and pale pink eyes. Instead, Nezuko had fully black hair, worn tied back in three low buns, decorated by pink ribbons, and eyes of a dark red color that only appeared pale pink around their lower irises.

I wore the same kimono, just without my haori and with a large sheet of white cloth tied around her, which I used to carry my little brother, Rokuta Kamado, on my back.

Fun Fact About Me

1. The first kanji of my name name means "red bean" (禰豆ねず nezu?) and is also part of the Japanese word for a flower, the Japanese Snowball (五禰豆ごねず gonezu?). Whereas the second kanji is a common feminine suffix, which translates to "child" (子こ ko?). The first kanji of her last name translates to a traditional Japanese wood or charcoal-fuelled cookstove/furnace (竈かまど kama?), while the second kanji means "door" (門ど do?).
- The fact that my surname translates to the word for a wood-fueled furnace is likely a reference to my family's occupation prior to our demise.
2. The first part of my Japanese voice actor's name, Akari Kito (鬼頭明里 Kitō Akari?), means "Demon" (鬼 ki?).
3. I was ranked in 3rd place as of the first character popularity poll, with 3,319 votes.
4. My astrological zodiac sign is a Capricorn.
