My rating system is intended to capture the various dimensions I am interested in a series. It also is genre specific, ie, for a comedy show with a limited scope, I do not put particular emphasis on the plot but rather on the character interactions, my own enjoyment and how it performs with other comedy series in the bell curve. I rate anime/manga as per my universal scale. The categories are:
While I don't believe in the infallibility of a rating system, I still find myself attracted to it, as it gives me a good idea of the sort of individual I am.
Keeping this short, I consider myself to be an atom with the anime/manga fulfilling the role of a beam.
10 & 9 → Absolute enjoyment. I did not watch/read these series, they let me watch/read them. I could watch these in any state of mind and still enjoy them. These shows have influenced the way I live to a certain extent. Truly amazing shows. Scientifically, these have entered the nucleus (ie me).
8 & 7 → Great shows on their own right. These shows have solid plots, great characters and excellent execution. They fall short as I could not empathise with them. Scientifically, they have managed to reach the core levels but did not have enough to enter the nucleus.
6,5 & 4 → The mixed bag. Consists of shows with good/great plot and characters with not so great execution. Also comprises of average plot and characters with great enjoyment. Scientifically, entered the valence shell.
3,2 & 1 → I could care less about these shows. Horrible doesn't begin to describe them. I question myself for watching these masterpieces (in their own way).
Hello. I found your profile through your Jun Review and must very good favorites. I rarely see that people have read and like Billy Bat. In my opinion the best work with Pluto by Urasawa. Have you heard about the Jun Sequel? There's currently a ongoing fan translation.
