I totally agree with you about early reviews. I feel let down whenever I find a show without reviews, no matter how few episodes have aired. Sure, you can look at studios, directors, and casts to try to judge how good a show will be, but without other people's feedback, you can never be sure.

I'm not even sure why anyone has a problem with early reviews. Is there even a problem?

Well in my mind commenting on the first few episodes of a specific show isnt reviewing; a review is a complete analysis. There are many series that start woefully but pick up into something quite excellent (example Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha) and in contrast there are shows that start strong but devolve into a farce (example Chaos Head). It is impossible for a review of a small amount of episodes to grasp such fluctuations in quality.

Your profile states "few think that a review based on the first 1-2 eps can be helpful", i personally dont need such 'advice' as i know what'll i'll be watching from animation studio, director, seiyuu cast and other details that give a true insight into a show's potential as opposed to 90% of the members here who dont know what they're talking about.

And just for the record i dont waste my time rating such reviews so im not actually contributing to your problem :D

O I get it. In my case though anime that was derived from manga like Suzuka are often incomplete, most animes like that end but the manga still continues on for several chapters. Most of the time the manga continues for another 100 or so chapters.

I haven't blogged since the last time I actually worked on a project (K-ON!), but I'll probably just start blogging personal stuff once classes start and stuff :)

I'm not really an anime person, I'm more into mangas these days and like you I have no particular favorite manga however I am rather picky with mangas I read, I prefer to read mangas with great artwork with the exception of Princess Resurrection and some other titles as well.

What about you? Are you more into anime or manga?

Ah, hey. ^^
Umineko is almost as supenseful as Higurashi. There are nice mysterious scenes. Interesting deaths occur and Beatrice is a very cool character. Nevertheless, it feels as if something is missing to fully satisfy me. Still a good anime so far though.
