Your review of Mind Game was really helpful - I've watched Kemonozume and really loved Yuasa's art style, but for all its seemingly edgy smartness and even its unpretentious humour, it ultimately led to a banally conventional climax and resolution, and even the painfully hard-earned victory ultimately felt so hollow and short-changed that it was downright depressing. Reading your review, it seems Mind Game follows the exact same route, and even more aggressively at that.
