Before I even knew what anime was I probably watched Pokemon and Mew Mew Power (Tokyo Mew Mew) on TV. Then when I was around 11/12 and got into secondary school, I discovered that anime was so much more than just Pikachu and a bunch of fluffy animal girls. I started off watching magical girl anime like Shugo Chara and Mermaid Melody and then I got a lil bit bored and decided it was time to venture out into the complexities of the shoujo genre which was fun and interesting but eventually got a bit repetitive. I think the first shounen manga I ever read was Change123 which was....... DIFFERENT to what I was used to. Big titties and panty shots everywhere. At first I was seriously uncomfortable with it but the story was way too good so I eventually got used to it. After having a taste of shounen I realised I couldn't just stick with shoujo - there are so many different types out there.
My taste in anime greatly varies. I'm a sucker for flawless animation combined with an eargasmic OST and a complex plot (see my favourites for example - they have all three)
I wouldn't describe myself as a hardcore fan like the others I see on the internet but I'm not a casual fan either seeing as I've kind of dedicated 8 years of my life to this unhealthy hobby but like, I don't buy merch or invest any money into anime and manga? But it's basically the only medium of visual entertainment I indulge myself in on a regular basis so and it's gotten to the point where I can almost understand like a quarter of an episode of anime without subs despite having no formal Japanese lessons lmao so yea
If you've read this far then you're a great person and I probably love you for being so bored you had to read through my crappy about me *hugs u* although, it's more like I just want a place to write about my overall experience with anime and manga.
Thanks for reading!
