1) Clannad: After Story

Oof. This is a heavy watch.

The first season of Clannad (just called Clannad) isn't that special, but it does something important in the background: character development. Season 1 only exists to make you like the characters, know their personalities and makes you experience their experiences.

After Story, especially the second half of the season, is something different. The most heartbreaking story I've ever seen. Don't look up spoilers and don't go into this expecting it to make you cry: you will. The less you know, the better.

Clannad is a story that will change you. For me it showed the importance of family and that life isn't a happy fairytale. The first season might not be for you, but bite through it, it's really worth the watch for After story. This show is both hilarious and extremely depressing.

2) Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

If you didn't know yet, this is the most clickbaity title ever, since the bunny-girl suit is only seen twice in the entire series.
The main character, Sakuta, is easily my most favourite mc ever with his brutally honest humor. Every girl is the best and they're all likeable in their own way. You'll never get tired of the show. Perfect and mature story, very likeable characters and you will keep wanting more.

3) The Pet Girl of Sakura Hall

My perfect anime. The artstyle, humor, romance and setting is 100% what I love about the medium. It leaves you hanging with a sense of nostalgia to times you never had and you will miss this super-likeable cast of characters. The first episodes might give a bad impression due to some fanservice (cleavage shot & censored naked girl), but this never happens after that.

4) Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (When They Cry)

The best mystery-anything I've ever seen.

This show gave me actual paranoia at times, especially in the first season. Since anyone could die anytime, and you don't know who to trust. I sweated like a pig while watching certain scenes, wich I never did before in any media.

When The Cicadas Cry is a horror-mystery anime, wich will be both extremely gruesome and confusing at the same time; but after every arc, more pieces of the puzzle will be revealed. When finishing the second season, you will experience a really satisfying conclusion to the story. The little details of every arc are much more than it seems, and it's done so well.

More plottwists than Shutter Island, more painful scenes than Saw (here you actually care about the characters) and a multiple-dimension/timeline-plot that actually makes sense to me.

I came for the horror, I stayed for the God-tier mystery plot. Loved every second of it.
