Hi my name is Stacy and i'm a joyful (I like to believe that i'm cheerful) young adult who learned to love anime from a young age. My father (bless his soul), introduced it to me when i was a wee young lass by playing some old Ghibli VHS tape he bought on a whim (which i now know to be Totoro) and since then I grew to love this particular set of animation sphere. I lived the majority of my life in a rather small city that by all accounts is more of a village than a proper city, so totoro was magical for me to see as a child, imagining myself playing with a giant cat.
It is also this relationship of mine with the city i was born and lived in for most of my life that i love anime or manga which depicts a lot of natural imagery or a more down to earth atmosphere which reminds me of home. nowadays i live in a close by bigger city and i can't help but remember those idyllic days lazing around and just enjoying myself. i guess its clearly visible in my favourites and scores.
and speaking of favourites as i watched more and more anime i came across a certain show which introduced me to my passion as an anime fan. Card Captors Sakura was truly a game changer to me, with how cute and fluffy show it was. it captured my heart (haha lame pun i know), and since then i got immersed in the world of mahou shoujo and never turned back on it. i eventually experimented with other types of shows here and there but i seem to be stuck with my magical companions, not that i complain about that (outside of some exceptions, which would require some storytelling to explain how odd my fav list might look to others).
ah yes before i forget i'll write here how i ended up joining mal even considering how large my list is. you see for a long while all of my anime consumption was when my father drove over to the closest town (which had some rental VHS) and I was disconnected from the internet for a long while during my formative years. we did eventually get a internet connection years later but I never felt the need to list the anime i watched, I just saw anime for fun.
I did create the habit of jotting it down in my diary the names of most of the anime i saw (which is where i'm slowly adding to my list here). then when i started college one of my old childhood friends (who only got into anime recently, after years of me talking to him about it) kept pestering me to join this site so he could get some recommendations from me without having to call me every once in a while and here I am (he's a dork with weird interests i know but he means no harm).
i hope this would suffice as a short summary of who i am to anyone who bothers to look at my profile. hope you have a nice day.

do kids nowadays still watch tv? i thought they all watch anime online nowadays....
it's what i say to each new mal friend.. it's something the protagonist of rewrite did a few times when he registered a new friend, at least in the visual novel, and i found it catchy
you greatly remind me of an old friend of mine who also used "mew mew" as the first part of the username
i assume Tokyo mew mew aired in your country too :^
