My first anime was Akira, and I was pretty put off by it... a couple of years later I was introduced to Berserk. Ever since I have been hooked. I tend to read more manga than watch anime these days. And I prefer anime and manga to all of the crap we have here in the states. I mean the animation here in the US leaves alot to be desired.

I guess I could also be a Final Fantasy otaku ;)

I really enjoy having MAL there are only 2 things I wish for: that korean webcomics as well as visual novels be added to the lists, and I also wish that we could post more than five favs.

Yea, I have a few I could give you. Let me know what genre it is you are looking for. Otherwise I'm just guessing. Here is a few different types, for now.
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen is my all time favorite. It's the prequel.
Black Lagoon if you like shoot 'em up action.
Ghost in the Shell if you like action that will make you think.
Bakemonogatari is amazing if you don't mind such heavy dialogue.
Eve no Jikan was really good
Nyan Koi is one of my favorite rom-coms

Hey there, sorry for the late reply. Life has been too busy lately and I didn't notice the comment. That is the highest anime compatibility I have seen on here. You clearly have good taste...lol. I'll be checking you lists for any good series.
