There's certainly no denying that Getter is awesome of course! It was made by Go Nagai, after all. I have him to thank for getting me into super robots as well, thanks to Mazinger Z. I have to admit a bit of a bias towards real type robots though, but really, I love ALL mecha (except Dendoh, that thing can go die somewhere).
Procrastination is an evil thing though, it's already 6:30 in the morning... I completely forgot to go to sleep last night. Oh well, might as well just stay up now. Good thing I don't have anything to do either, haha.
Ideon's pretty rad. At the very least, Cosmo probably wins the award for best 'fro in anime. It's quite impressive! I'm sure you'll like it though, assuming you don't mind "Kill 'em All" Tomino shows (thanks for the crap Zambot ending, jerk!).
I've got quite a few shows I still haven't gotten around to yet as well... some of them have been put off for more than a year now. I'll get to them... someday...

(Also, Ideon is totally rockin')
(Also, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, whatever your thing is!)

And you have a 'friend' calling you an ugly little girl in your comments in spanish, so you know if you didn't figure that out already.
It is is it now? Hmm. I think this calls for a party.
ANYWHO. Add me, sir. You know who this is.
Ayakashi is a collection of three different stories by three different teams, only one of which is related to Mononoke. The first series is decent, probably 6/10 material (but unrelated to Mononoke). The second is awful - more like 1 or 2/10. Finally, you have the third arc, which is like the first arc of Mononoke, and it's awesome, 9 or 10/10.
Because the last arc was the only one that people liked, it got it's own anime - Mononoke.
It's possible to watch Mononoke without seeing that final arc, but you'll recognize things/people if you've seen it first. I dunno, it's not like I can really recommend Ayakashi, though... maybe just watch episodes 9, 10, and 11? It's up to you.
But lol, I just realized my noobishness with regard to the mecha genre. Real robot? Super robot? What exactly is the difference? :-P
I'll definitely check out War in the Pocket, though. I've also heard 8th MS Team is fairly good, which is the reason I started with the original series. Thoughts on that one?
As for other recommendations, hmm...
Probably Mononoke is the closest thing I can think of to Kino. It's great stuff - extremely stylish visuals, an awesome, mysterious main character, and some very interesting storytelling.
On the subject of giant robots, though, I'm actually trying to get into the Gundam series. I have the first 10 episodes of the original series subbed, but my torrent for the rest of it is taking forever. In the meantime, do you happen to know a good Gundam series to start on?
Also, Episode 5 isn't up anymore.
But I'm downloading it all now, so unless you are going to watch it immediately, you may as well just wait for me to get it and steal it from me! ( ' 0')-b
