Thanks for pointing that out. Man, you really got me there XD. I'll be the first to admit that my usage of the word filler in this context might have been mistaken. However, what I meant to point out is that those first few episodes were overall a long drag and not worth the trouble of watching. Additionally, those episodes were to me 'filler' in the sense that they had no overall bearing on the plot of the anime itself and were simply inserted there because the people in charge couldn't be bothered to focus on adapting SAO's more interesting parts. Rather, they emphasised all that claptrap on the relationship between Kirito and Silica, Sachi and Liz. I haven't really read the SAO novels yet, but from what I can glean from SAO related discussions there is definitely more excellent material that could have been adapted and would sit well with most people.
