I've been watching anime since I was a young teen. I've had breaks from it here and there, but have always loved it.

Reviews
Most important things in an anime are Story, Characters/Character development, Relationships, Enjoyment/Comedy, and Ecchiness (done well).
10 = Masterpiece, usually makes me think about life in a new way or feel moved by the anime.
9 = Amazing all around, but couldn't relate back to my life in a profound way or was lacking something.
8 = Great, still recommended. Maybe was amazing, but had some flaws like a bad ending, or just doesn't touch me emotionally to think about things.
7 = It's okay, but there are some things that I don't like in it, but is still somewhat enjoyable but is getting border line. Dragon Ball Z is a good example it is fun too watch, but it is too dragged out. For it's time it was good though.
6 = I don't recommend, the problems are so much that I rarely finish such an anime series. Also the type of comedy might not be my type of style. There is a good chance some people would like this anime due to different tastes.
5 and below = Something really pissed me off morally about it like censoring itself (Cross Ange) or it just has numerous problems with it poor characters, bad story, boring, etc. I think almost everyone will dislike this type of anime due to numerous problems.
What I like in an anime:
-Philosophical and ask questions.
-Good character development and have multidimensional characters. Characters you can identify with strongly, or deeply care for.
-Romances that are well done and showing a growing and deepening relationship.
-Comedies that aren't just just jokes where characters get hit or slapstick, but have context or are thought out.
-Ecchi (Erotic) if they are ecchi then go for it, but don't let the story suffer or go overboard trying to show it to the sacrifice of everything else. Also don't do the opposite and censor yourself like Cross Ange which is very sexual like an ecchi, but puts black bars over girl's breasts getting groped. I am less critical of ecchi anime's stories, but it should be made up for with good characters, comedy, and ecchni-ness.
-Emotionally moving and exam the human condition or psychology.
