There is just something about anime, sci-fi, romance, action, comedy whatever genre that just sparks the imagination creating new ideas or reviving old ones.
I've been a fan of anime for a few years now watching the classic dragon ball z and gundam wing that i'm sure most people watched, but what really got me started and ultimately hooked was full metal panic, great story good comedy and action not to mention a touch of romance it's just a shame they ended it :(.
From full metal panic i branched out and hit on vandread then more gundam series (mecha/romance fan) following true to what i like and sticking with sci-fi mainly till it started to run dry at this point i thought i ran out of anime to watch lol!. Now i watch anything in anime or at least try give it a 2-3 episode cooling off period in which i usually decide if i will carry on or drop it somewhere in the depths of the ocean.
Guess i should mention what i hate,
cheap art:
Nothing puts me off more then artists who can not put in the effort you can have amazing voices the best intro in anime, but if you art work is rubbish tis gonna keep nagging in the back of the mind.
saying that is probably one of the reasons i havent watched older animes or dropped some like ranma 1/2 god it got so repetitive i felt the whole anime had spiraled into a complete filler lol.
Weak minded characters:
Perhaps not weak per say more stupid interms of ok lets give you a small story
Main characters standing there killer in front of him the killer says his gonna kill him and the main character is standing asking stupid questions trying to figure out why they are getting stabbed when its already been reveled to them ah thats it not weak minded sorry naive protagonists to the point there living in bliss. really in some cases if its used for plot development like tales of the abyss then use it to the full advantage and character growth, but for love of god give them some intelligence lol.
i think thats it for my anime hates :) i don't review many animes because i like to debate animes or the plots rather then say you should really watch this.
Any recommendations i do will be mainly based on personal feel and enjoyment not o he or she had the same eye colour! or same voice actor/actress.
On a final note i had dubs nothing compares to the passion the jactors/actress put into there work on animes and as a sign or respect i always watched subs English voice acting just is substandard imho.
Your welcome to leave notes browse my watched animes and even ask question on stuff i have watched or things you think i may like i'm always open for a good debate on what was good/bad about an anime or how i think certain ongoing seasons are.
Thanks for reading my essay :P and i hope you enjoy anime as much as me.

Fine try mmm :D
Kuroko no Basket, Muv Luv Total Eclipse, the first episode of Sword Art Online was good :).
Those are the animes that stand out to me this season so far.
Ok so you want recommended something awesome that you've not seen? Some that has an epic story, emotion?
Then try Major. It has like 5 seasons with the character growing older as it goes on. Oh and just so you know; if you dont like episode 1 you most likely wont like the rest.
You may want to try a series called Berserk. If you do though its important to start at episode 2. For some reason they decide to show you the end of story at episode 1 and then jump back on ep 2. So finish the series then watch ep 1 to see the after story if it sounds good.
Break Blade is a good series of movies I think you might enjoy that.
Black Lagoon prob suits you.
Blue Gender is an awesome end of the world anime.
Fate/Zero 2nd season was good.
One Piece is awesome but a very long series :). Not sure if its for you or not again you would know by end of ep 1.
Ookiku Furikabutte a very relaxing anime.
Over Drive - comedy and rather good story progression.
Any of them sound interesting mate?
I plan to watch Sword art Online and I have already seen the first episode of Total Eclipse (I LOVED FIRST EP). Thats my only certain plants for moment :D
Hmmm clannad is your favorite eh. Well try Kimikiss Pure Rouge, might suit you. It doesnt have the same comedy but I still enjoyed it :).
Hajime no Ippo is awesome though I think thats the biggest series your missing out on. haha it might be the only series your missing out on :P
