Yeah, i guess that's the problem too
But I felt like the anime was a sort of fanservice for the Japanese fans since it's widely popular in which lead to the rushed story, focusing on Matenro and Buster Bros cuz they're the famous ones among the fans.

It's really sad cuz the anime, game, and drama tracks feel like different universes
The story is pretty in-depth too right now. I really recommend listening to the drama tracks which you can find on Spotify and the subtitles for the tracks in HypmicWiki
