For most series it would be an excuse (although many plan this way from the start now!), but for Evangelion the money was simply GONE.

Yes, I know what I am talking about. Every non-Pixar Disney film has been awful at everything art related since The Little Mermaid. Every Pixar film has been pretty sweet at the animation part, just not anything else. It is not about personal opinion, the entire U.S. machine stopped animating around the '50s and it was DISNEY'S FAULT (or at least their influence combined with the desires of lots of people). Hercules is probably the actual worse.

Gainax does it better, Disney goes out of its way not to give life. You really do not seem to understand anything about what exactly it is Disney does.

There is a point in saying it. If other people are using the same fake-CGI bullshit, then it also sucks in those series. Unlike those series people are jizzing over High School of the Dead animation, for some insane reason.

The still shots in Evangelion were (at least mostly if not completely) because of budget problems, this is "on the record". They did it because they had to, not because they thought it was great television. They saved the budget for the action scenes to great effect.

Um I am not sure what point you remotely think you are making. Shitfests like Mulan, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Lilo and Stitch, et cetera...simply have atrocious art and animation. Great films like Pinocchio or Fantasia had amazing coloring, amazing style, and good to great animation, but more than anyone else Disney fled inventiveness for "safe ideas" starting around 1950, and never changed.

When did I imply I cared about how many epic action scenes something had? Pinocchios action scenes were stupid (the whale thing being the worst), I just love looking at everything move and how properly colored everything is.

Why does effort matter? Sometimes creativity is involved, but there have not been any creative Disney films since Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid (which still pale in comparison animation wise next to a Pinocchio or Dumbo or Fantasia). Effort does not mean anything - of course most artists try, they also typically lack talent, or the overall production team does.

No, it does not concern all anime. There has been a degradation in anime that often applies, but not always. For instance the new Evangelion movies have this fake bullshit "action smoothing", but the series had "real" action.

The last Disney movie to have real action was like...Pinocchio, so I am not sure how much I have to turn to there!
It’s time to ditch the text file.
