Oh cool, I see you watched the old Kenshin OVA's. Trust and Betrayal is really good, I saw it right after I finished watching the old Rurouni Kenshin t.v. series so I remember being really surprised how different it was.
Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, everybody says that about the second half of the series and I'm one of them. Still, I like it when a creative team takes risks like that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In this case, the first half definitely makes the series.
I noticed you dropped Katanagatari. I realize its quite slow at first and it has a lot of dialogue, but it definitely is worth it as you on on. So unless you absolutely hated it I think you should try a few more episodes.

Also noticed Clannad After Story is in your top 5. You should really check out Kanon, its by the same people who made Clannad and is my personal favorite.
Death Note's great. It keeps tension throughout and it mostly does this in a cerebral way and not necessarily through action scenes. The monologues and dialogues of its two major characters Light and L are great as they both try to entrap one another. It has such a cool original idea and I haven't really seen an anime yet that really tops it in the devious plotting the characters engage in. A definite watch in my opinion.
