I think that Ghost in the Shell could be an expression that has two interpretations or meanings. One of which is usually risqué or suggestive, like a double entenderé.

Canonically speaking, Motoko became a cyborg at a very young age, probably around fourth grade when advanced biomechanics and prosthetics started trending. Most likely at a time when humans wanted to step up their game in evolution when they saw technology achieving a whole new level.

I'm also glad that I grew up in the most underrated decade ever. In a pre-Facebook and pre-Tumblr world.

Back when we didn't have to worry about concerns related to privacy, misinformation, addiction, inauthenticity, polarization, and online harassment from an incorrect means of communication. The way people connected and communicated before mainstream social media was fine.

I still prefer analog technology and I prefer writing with my left hand than to type. Typing on keyboards won't help me master those kanji strokes ambidextrously.

I can easily put the shepherd's sling (which I kind of mastered ambidextrously also), a Japanese waterstone and a lot of other things over big name social media.

It's basically about futuristic detectives fighting hackers in a world full of supercomputers and cyborgs. We might head to that kind of world on our way to achieving a Type 3 civilization. Our journey to a Type 3 civilization will be a tough and long one.

The more technology we have, the more problems we'll run into. Just look at Gen Z, getting anxiety and all those side effects of chronic tech dependency.

I used to think Japanese was very hard until I discovered Instant Japanese, made by an outstanding old Frenchman named Boyé Lafayette de Mente. Oxford told me later that I only need 8 Japanese particles for everyday use instead of all 18 after reading that carefully too.
