Ethereal-peace already asked this and I responded to them:
I mean, it might be hard to talk about it without getting bogged down in the specifics of what did and didn't work in the narrative, but the gist of it would probably be something like the big flops don't detract enough from the highs to harm my enjoyment of the story as a 10/10.
Sure if you take 10/10 to mean perfection, without flaws, Jojolion doesn't fit that definition of 10/10. Nothing really does (except Outer wilds and monogatari).
But I don't really rate series that way. I use the numbers as an indication for myself to place my enjoyment of certain media relative to media in the same genre. And the fact is at the end of the day, I enjoyed Jojolion as a 10/10.
In addition to this, I think it was a 10/10 at was it was trying to be, which is why I said that whole thing about the lens of the protagonist and stuff. There are somethings that fall flat outside this, like the Main villain being weaker than previous ones, or some side character's not getting the attention they deserve, or some dropped plot points, but that doesn't change my feelings of the main core of the manga.
At this point I'm kind of just restating my review though.
The 10/10 is just a symbol of my feelings on the series. My review is my explanation of my feelings on the series, my honest assessment of how I feel people will feel about the story compared to the other Jojo parts, and a little bit of my attempt to frame the expectations of people going into the part (if anyone doesn't just use MAL reviews as circlejerks lol)
