I would wager that you could skip watching Wolf's Rain and Hitman Reborn. I'd be interested in your thoughts on Kaiba if you saw that. It's one where if I see someone rated it highly I think, "OK, I can understand that." But, still, I feel confident in my rating, at least for myself.
Hey there,
I found your profile using animeadvice.me's nearest-neighbors search function. Although this search can yield users who I can't agree with, particularly for their high ratings of mediocre stuff, your ratings really interest me. The only rating that stood out was your dismissal of "Chihayafuru," but I can understand that the first two episodes fail to impress, especially with that campy theme that they play a ridiculous amount. And the frequent weeping. Gee, I feel doubt creeping into my mind now, which is unusual.
And when I read your Tatami Galaxy review, I went, "Hmm!" and then, a few sentences later, "Yes!" On your list, you have "Kimi no Todoke" described as "too fluffy." Yes, exactly! Hmm, "+1 for classical music." It's too seldom that I find great perspectives on anime that reflect my opinions.
Kino's is pretty good too but I still liked Mushishi more. I'm watching Jojos, Mushishi, Ping Pong, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, Nisekoi, and like one or two more. Not much really.
How about you, what have you been watching so far?
Yeah I definitely feel the same way. Although I drop some series here and there but it's a very rare thing for me to do.
You'll definitely enjoy both of those since they are similar to Mushishi due to its episodic nature. Although the tone of those shows are generally more lighthearted than atmospheric. I can't wait for the next season as well. Hopefully it's just as good as the first season.
I still have a hundred or so in my backlog. Not sure how long it'll take me to plow through though maybe a year or two. As for Katanagatari, yeah it's definitely time consuming getting into long series.
Anyhow, I've been on a slice-of-life phase for the past year or so now and I caught up with Game of Thrones but it took me some time. Never seen Sopranos but I know the movies are like almost 4 hours long. I'll get to it one of these days. I'm good though, nothing new except I've managed to finish some hidden gems here and there like Aria and Book of Friends. Dam, I noticed you just recently finished Mushishi. How'd you like it?
I don't really marathon like I used to. I think it's just because I have a short attention span or something. I just watch a couple eps a day then once in awhile I'll marathon something just like you do haha. Yeah I feel you. There are a few Western shows that can really grasp your attention with story telling but not the same way anime does if you know what I mean. I rarely watch any forms of television unless it's a movie out in theaters or something. Aside from that most of my viewing pleasure is anime.
That's good to know. I didn't join any clubs as well I'm thinking of joining one in the upcoming year hopefully. Yeah doing things on your own is completely fine. It's just being independent. I do that same as well. I don't party much like I used to. Did you watch all the ones I recommend you like before? I don't remember exactly what I told you to watch but I think it was somewhere between Tatami Galaxy, Welcome to the NHK, Katanagatari, and Samurai Champloo. If you need any more recommendations just let me know because somethings are pretty hyped but it's hard to find hidden gems out there. It just depends on what genre you're looking for. It's nice hearing from you though.
Yeah dude I still remember you. It's been awhile. Long time no talk indeed haha. Anime scene is being a good hobby for me still for the past year. I'm not watching as much as I want to but I manage to keep up with the airing shows which makes me still pretty content. How about you? How's college and did you manage to like the anime I recommended you?
