Rating System

10➵ May not be completely flawless, but outstanding in the entertainment department. Well developed and likable characters, interesting and unique plot, solid animation, and fitting OST
8/9 ➵ Similar to a 10/10 rating, but may be missing a point or two from the mentioned factors above that prevents it from getting a perfect rating - still amazing
7 ➵ Great show, may have a few weak points (i.e. repetitive monologues, frustrating characters, pacing, etc.) but still binge worthy
6 ➵ Okay, but not great. Decent, but in the middle between watchable and dull. It’s basically tolerable and doesn’t have any big big issues aside from mediocrity (maybe, not always)
≤ 5 ➵ disappointing in almost every criteria; possibly let down by being overhyped (big issues come with nonsensical plot devices, overdone cliches, and mediocre animation)

Most of the low ratings are possibly outdated since I watched them early into binging anime, meaning I wasn’t sure what to expect. Same can be said in reverse. They are possibly higher (or even lower) had I rewatched them, so don’t take them too seriously.

Conclusion: I like anime good.

About me: The main reason I watch anime is for all the laughter, tears, and hype the shows can bring. I won’t pretend like I’ve been watching anime since I came out of the womb, but I’m here for the ride and so far, I’ve loved a majority of the anime's I have watched. I got really into anime around 2021, but I have had my fair share of experiences previously from dvds I borrowed from the library as a kid. The first anime that really made me realize this industry wasn’t all hentai and high pitched female screams was One Punch Man. The action packed fights mixed with the comedy and amazing animation really set the standard for me. It was only until I came across Fruits Basket (2019), that I was fully strapped into this journey.
